The Republic of Suriname ({{langx|nl|Republiek Suriname}}) has a number of forms of transport. Railways
- Railways, total: 166 km single track.
- standard gauge: 80 km {{RailGauge|sg}} gauge in West-Suriname, but not in use. This stretch was constructed as part of the West Suriname Plan.
- narrow gauge: 86 km {{RailGauge|1000mm}} gauge Lawa Railway from Onverwacht to Sarakreek,{{cite web|url=https://www.dbnl.org/tekst/_sur001191302_01/_sur001191302_01_0111.php?q=Station%2520of%2520Stopplaats#hl1|title=De Vraagbaak. In 2014, a plan had been announced to reopen the line between Onverwacht and Paramaribo Central Station. The intention was for the line to be extended onto Paramaribo Adolf Pengel Airport,{{cite web |url=http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/infrastructure/single-view/view/suriname-railway-plan-announced.html |title=Suriname railway plan announced |work=Railway Gazette International |date=7 November 2014 |access-date=13 May 2020}}. but as of May 2020, the project has not started.
