{{Use dmy dates|date=September 2014}}

The UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group E was one of nine groups drawn to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 2016 finals tournament.{{cite web |url=https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/competitions/Draws/02/04/64/31/2046431_DOWNLOAD.pdf |title=UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifying Draw Procedure |publisher=UEFA |pages=1 |format=PDF |access-date=22 February 2014}} Group E consisted of six teams: England, Switzerland, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, and San Marino,{{cite web|url=https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/history/news/0253-0d7f1ded11da-4dd3f96a288d-1000--qualifying-draw-paves-road-to-france-2016/|title=Spain face Ukraine return in EURO 2016 qualifying|publisher=UEFA|date=23 February 2014}} who played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format.{{cite web|url=https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/uefaorg/Regulations/02/03/92/81/2039281_DOWNLOAD.pdf|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20131219025616/http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/uefaorg/Regulations/02/03/92/81/2039281_DOWNLOAD.pdf|url-status=dead|archive-date=19 December 2013|title=Regulations of the UEFA European Football Championship 2014-16|publisher=UEFA}}

The top two teams, England and Switzerland, qualified directly for the finals. As third-placed Slovenia were not the highest-ranked among all third-placed teams, they advanced to the play-offs, where they lost to Ukraine and thus failed to qualify.

England won all ten of their matches becoming only the fifth national side to qualify for a European Championship with a 100% record, and the sixth instance, after France (1992 and 2004), Czech Republic (2000), Germany and Spain (both 2012).{{cite news|last=Hammond|first=Mike|title=England join EURO's perfect qualification club|url=https://www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/news/0253-0d80a8565276-a7530b6badb1-1000--england-join-euro-s-perfect-qualification-club/|access-date=15 October 2015|publisher=UEFA|date=12 October 2015}}
