Alexander Chow
My real name is Alexander Chow and, on many social media websites, my username is caorongjin, the pinyin form of my Chinese name ({{Zh|t=曹榮錦|s=曹荣锦|p=Cáo Róngjǐn}}).
I work professionally as a senior lecturer in the School of Divinity, University of Edinburgh, in the areas of Christian theology and world Christianity.{{Cite web|url=http://www.ed.ac.uk/profile/dr-alexander-chow|title=Dr Alexander Chow|last=|first=|date=|website=University of Edinburgh|publisher=|access-date=28 April 2017}}{{Cite web|url=https://alexanderchow.wordpress.com/about/|title=Profile|date=|website=Alexander Chow: Reflections on Chinese Christianity and Theology|publisher=|language=en-US|access-date=19 August 2016}} Some of my academic writings can be found listed on my [https://alexanderchow.wordpress.com/publications/ academic blog].
Wikipedia in the classroom
In early 2016, I read in the Times Higher Education{{Cite news|url=https://www.timeshighereducation.com/news/exam-by-wikipedia-replaces-increasingly-unappealing-essays|title=Exam by Wikipedia replaces ‘increasingly unappealing’ essays|last=Havergal|first=Chris|date=31 March 2016|work=Times Higher Education|access-date=2 May 2017|archive-url=|archive-date=|language=en}} and a related peer-reviewed journal article{{Cite journal|last=Lauro|first=Frances Di|last2=Johinke|first2=Rebecca|date=2017-04-03|title=Employing Wikipedia for good not evil: innovative approaches to collaborative writing assessment|url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/02602938.2015.1127322|journal=Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education|volume=42|issue=3|pages=478–491|doi=10.1080/02602938.2015.1127322|issn=0260-2938}} about how educators were using Wikipedia for course assignments. Inspired, I too thought it might be a good idea. The results can be found here:
