Thanks for visiting. My code name is CircularReason (CircularΔογός).CircularReason not alluding to the fallacy, but to eternal reason that encircles the the One. IRL, I'm a 40-something American male philosopher and educator and investor. I have degrees in Orthodox theology, history, and philosophy. My research focuses on virtue in the context of naturalism (whatever that is).
I love Wikipedia and want to make it better. (I even love the [http://www.conservapedia.com/Examples_of_Bias_in_Wikipedia Wikipedia Bias] because I always know what I'm gonna get.) I use it extensively for personal interest, and use it as a starting point for items of professional interest.
My primary Wikipedia editing policy is *be bold*. Followed closely by "Don't whine" if you get reverted. It's not personal. Probably not personal. Even if it were personal, don't whine. Just ask questions, get better, or move on.
In producing content, or condensing articles, I prefer simplicity and clarity especially in lede paragraphs.
In general, I prefer to add detailed content to an article until it is ready for splitting, then split early and split often. Knowledge expands fractally, and Wikipedia browsing should mirror this expansion. Simple terms people search should reveal a short-ish article with further hyperlinks to more specific articles. I dislike articles with long, complicated lede paragraphs that turn off the casual reader
In the past, I've worked hard on the Philosophy article (All roads lead to philosophy!), the Absolute (philosophy) article, which has been outmoded, and the Virtue ethics article which needs some work.
Primary Wikipedia interests include philosophy, science, religion, and history -- because knowledge is one big messy whole. A more or less complete list is here:
1 Philosophy, the History of Philosophy, and Science
1.1 Ethics
1.1.1 Virtue ethics
1.2 Logic
1.2.1 Reason
1.5 Socrates and Socratic dialogue
1.6 Aristotle and Neo-Aristotelianism
1.7 Stoicism
2 Religion and other worldviews because these are intimately related to philosophy
2.1 Theism
2.2 Atheism
2.3 Christianity
2.5 Scientism
2.5 Human nature
3 History and other Humanities because I majored in the humanities and studied classics
3.1 Classicism
4 Art, Literature, and Movies because I am an amateur artist and screenwriter
5 Social and Political issues because I care about women, minorities, and class struggle
5.1 Feminism
5.2 Racism
5.3 Sexism
5.4 Classism and Egalitarianism
5 Miscellaneous
5.1 Bourbon because I have worked at a distillery
5.2 Rich Buhler because I knew him
