Amdi Petersens Armé was, in the time they existed, a very popular hardcore punk-band, both in Denmark and abroad, and they still are. The sound of the band, was very inspired by the early US hardcore. The music was simple, fast and raw, with Danish lyrics.

The band got its name, from the Danish cult leader, Mogens Amdi Petersen, who also got convicted for tax evasion.

The members of Amdi Petersens Armé, are now playing in other bands, such as No Hope for the Kids and

Gorilla Angreb.

The single Das Reich/Secret Police from 2003, with a first pressing of 300, was quickly sold out and are now a collector's item sold for exorbitant prices at auction sites like eBay. But there is a 2nd pressing on white vinyl, too, but those are even rarer.Favorable review on the American internet fanzine [http://www.deadmetaphor.com/reviews.php?id=3109 Deep Fried Bonanza], favorable review on American internet fanzine [http://www.terminal-boredom.com/reviews5.html Terminal Boredom]

No Hope for the Kids' debut album was released on vinyl in 2003 by the now defunct Danish label Kick'n'Punch. Titled No Hope for the Kids, it is sometimes wrongly labelled as Storkøbenhavn because the bandmembers on the coverphoto is placed next to the citylimits sign with Storkøbenhavn written on it. The album was released on CD in 2004 by the American label Feral Ward.

2006 saw the release of the single Angels of Destruction/Cold Touch on the label Backwards Masking. The song Angels of Destruction had previously been released in 2003 on the Danish compilation København i Ruiner on the Kick'n'Punch label.

In 2006 the song Treblinka appeared on the punk-compilation Public Safety released by American punkrock magazine Maximumrocknroll. The self-titled album has now been reissued a third time by Danish label Hjernespind (since the demise of Kick'n'Punch].

In January 2008 Hjernespind released an EP which is a reissue of the songs from the bands two singles.

Band history

Gorilla Angreb played a melodic punk rock with dashes of garage punk. The lyrics were all in Danish.

The first release was a yellow vinyl single released by Danish label (now defunct) Kick'n'Punch. It created som stir in the punkscene, and received favorable reviews in the American punk magazine Maximumrocknroll. The interest for Danish hardcore had been increasing in the US since Amdi Petersens Armé had been touring that country, and Gorilla Angreb and fellow Ungdomshuset band No hope for the kids only increased that interest with their releases.[http://www.sailorjerry.com/feature.php?n=music&r=348 No hope for the kids US tour][http://www.dustedmagazine.com/features/484 Gorilla Angreb is favorably reviewed in dusted fanzine]

The interest eventually in 2007 took the band on a tour of Japan as well.

In 2007, a Hjernespind Records release of a compilation of former releases was made available.

31st of july 2007 Mai announced that she was leaving the band.[http://www.myspace.com/gorillaangreb Announcement on Gorilla angrebs Myspace.com page] Following this the band has announced its break-up.
