Christy A. Tremonti is an observational astronomer on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She was a 2005 Hubble Fellow while at the University of Arizona.{{cite web|last1=Space Telescope Science Institute|title=Hubble Fellowships - Listing of all Hubble Fellows 1990-2014|url=http://www.stsci.edu/institute/smo/fellowships/hubble/fellows-list/|accessdate=13 March 2015}} She received her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 2003. She completed her dissertation, "The physical properties of low redshift star forming galaxies: Insights from the space-UV and 20,000 SDSS spectra",{{cite web|last1=SAO/NASA ADS|title=Astronomy Abstract Service|url=http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2003PhDT.........2T|accessdate=13 March 2015}} under the supervision of Dr. Timothy M. Heckman.{{cite web|last1=Heckman|first1=Timothy|title=Curriculum Vitae December 2012|url=http://krieger.jhu.edu/physics/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2013/02/Heckman.pdf|accessdate=13 March 2015}}
Her primary interests involve galaxy formation and evolution, including star-forming galaxies, active galactic nucleus (AGN) feedback, galactic winds, and galaxy mergers. She is also interested in spectroscopy and data mining, and is a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.{{cite web|last1=University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Astronomy|title=Tremonti, Christy UW-Madison Astronomy|url=http://www.astro.wisc.edu/our-people/faculty/tremonti/|accessdate=13 March 2015}}
She has over sixty journal articles in such publications as the Astronomical Journal, Astrophysical Journal, and the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. Most of her articles can be found in full text at arXiv.org.{{cite web|last1=arXiv.org|url=http://arxiv.org/find/astro-ph/1/au:+Tremonti_C/0/1/0/all/0/1|title=arXiv.org Search Results|accessdate=13 March 2015}} Like many scientists, Dr. Tremonti is highly collaborative, with over 150 co-authors across her many publications.{{cite web|last1=Scopus|url=http://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.url?authorId=6601939901&origin=AuthorEval|title=Scopus Author Details (Tremonti, Christy A.)|accessdate=13 March 2015}} Some of her most frequent collaborators are Timothy M.
