Hey there, I'm Tenryuu. I am primarily a copyeditor and am part of the Guild of Copy Editors (GOCE) project here on Wikipedia. If you need an article proofread, either hit me up on my talk page{{efn|I tend to be busy on odd months (i.e., January, March, May...)}} or send a request over to the Guild. I am also a host over at the Teahouse, so if you have any questions to ask about Wikipedia, experienced editors will answer them for you in a timely manner.
My copyediting process with requests
My process for copyediting articles when requested goes like this:
- I accept a request, either from the GOCE's requests page or on my talk page.
- I place a {{Tl|GOCEinuse}} or {{Tl|In use}} template on the top before I start editing.
- I complete a preliminary edit (invisible comments added are for my use; {{red|please don't delete them}}) and will ask the requester to reply to any questions I may have on the article's talk page. Please ping me when a reply is given.
- Once a day has passed I give the article a second copyedit, whether or not my questions have been answered. If the requester has not responded, I will allow an arbitrary amount of time (typically another 18-24 hours) before making any last-minute edits and marking it as complete.
- A third copy edit is made. If the article meets all parties' satisfaction, I will mark the request as complete.
The process may be shortened if there is a backlog drive or blitz going on. If more-than-anticipated copy editing is required, the process will be lengthened.
My templates
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/GOCE talk}}: Used when questions for the requester are posed.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/process}}: Used to let users know about an upcoming Q&A over at an article's talk page.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/What}}: For when comments leave you confused.
- {{Tl|Courtesy link}}: Leaves a courtesy link in its own line; link must still be provided afterwards.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/Sign}}: Produces a text string in small text reminding an editor to sign their posts. {{Red|Rendered moot by {{Tl|NoSig}}.}}
- {{Tl|Courtesy external}}: Leaves an external link in its own line.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/offtopic}}: Creates an off-topic icon.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/pdf}}: Used to append a .pdf icon before the external link. {{Red|Not correctly implemented.}}
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/ping}}: Creates a small message asking other editors to ping the user. {{Red|Rendered moot by {{tl|Pping}}.}}
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/next discussion}}: Creates a hatbox that points readers to a following discussion.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/previous discussion}}: Creates a hatbox that points readers to a previous discussion.
- {{Tl|Left arrow}}: Produces the ← character.
- {{Tl|xtn2}}: Produces {{Tl|xtn}} as a block quote.
- {{Tl|Multireply}}: Used to explicitly indicate that the reply is for multiple comments (usually on the same indentation level).
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/donate}}: Canned response for a canned question. {{red|Rendered moot by {{tl|WikiDonation}}.}}
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/read}}: Creates a resbox that marks the thread as read (with no other action taken).
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/replied}}: Creates a resbox that marks the thread as replied (with no other action taken).
- {{Tl|Courtesy ping}}: Creates a ping with an icon.
- {{Tlu|User:Tenryuu/working}}: Creates a resbox that marks the subject of a thread as being worked on.
- {{Tl|HD/wikilayout}}: Creates a templated response in regards to Vector 2022 becoming the default skin.
