Peter Weatherall
Peter Weatherall is an New Zealander composer born in Australia. He is known for collaborating with renowned Japanese illustrator Hidemi Ueno on a variety of children's animation, such as [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms3eBRmF57U Choo Choo Train].
Biography
Weatherall was born in Australia. He studied Languages, Philosophy, Mathematics and Science at university in New Zealand (obtaining several degrees in these subjects), and then went on to do a doctorate in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge in England, specializing in theories of learning and language acquisition. Having held teaching and research posts at universities in New Zealand and the United States, he became increasingly interested in the practical use of music and animation in order to enhance children's learning abilities. To these ends he writes original stories, songs and music for children, and creates animation and other multimedia materials, which are broadcast on his award-winning educational Children's TV and Radio shows (Penguin TV and Jumping Jellybeans TV and Radio).
