I do attempt to edit constructively, I believe the warning on my talk page was the result of a misunderstanding with someone who was attempting to prevent vandalism. I clearly explained myself in the discussion page, but I failed to make an edit summary which is not required but recommended. Warlocks MC and your threat to block

Dear Sir,

I have been personally asked by Warlocks members to remove the information pertaining to Danny McElheney (He has kids, grandkids and the case has been dropped due to lack of evidence) Also, the Chester Chapter has asked me on numorous occations to deleate the Zaroff story. They no longer want ties to him. Because this Wiki link is one of the major links to the Warlocks website, they feel that the majority of their site readers are see this information.

I may have deleted this McElheny-Zaroff link on few occasions, but I also have been a major contributor of "real" information to this page. I contributed the Breed article, corected the Spadorfa - Warlock article and the opening paragraph contains information very similar to the Warlocks website. I created the website, along side of, not only, one of the longest consecutive member but also a man who served 15 years of his life in federal prison for this club and is known as a leading member of the group, who have, over the last 40+ years made this club one of the most notorious in the country.

Therefore, I feel as though, my explanation should be enough for you to allow this deletion but if not, at least out of respect for the men this page references. Vandalism Dispute

I don't see how that is vandalism. Other celebrities have similar information about them under personal information. How is the thing about him and his wife having a few cats and dogs anymore relevant than the fact that he uses a lot of hair gel. If you would like I can cite a source. Would you be opposed to changing the block settings on 128.8.73.83 to no account creation and talk page disabled? This is an individual at the University of Maryland who has a long term history of using multiple UMD IPs to vandalize roughly the same list of articles over and over again.

The India Wikiproject was set up to increasing coverage of India-related topics on Wikipedia, and over the past few months the focus has been on improving article quality. A number of the project's featured articles underwent featured article reviews over the past year. Of these, Darjeeling and Flag of India survived the review process, while the rest were demoted. During the same period, Gangtok, Harbhajan Singh, Darjeeling and Mysore were featured on the main page respectively on August 20, September 17, November 6 and December 29, 2009. Meanwhile, articles on topics as diverse as Political history of Mysore and Coorg (1565–1760), Marwari horse and Iravan were promoted as featured articles, and respectively appeared on the main page on March 25, May 17 and May 28, 2010. Consequently, the number of FA-class articles under the project's scope dropped from 67 in August 2009 to 63 in June 2010. The number of good articles, however, saw a more than 40% increase, from 91 to 130 during the same period, while the number of featured lists saw a 33% increase from 12 to 16. Due to the recent policy changes regarding unreferenced Biographies of Living People (BLPs), an effort was started in January 2010 to source all unreferenced BLPs coming under Wikiproject India. 1200 such articles were identified initially and more were added to the list later. Due to the sourcing effort, the number of Indian unreferenced BLPs is down to 565 currently. A month long range block was imposed on his IP range two times and each time he came back to vandalise dates once the block expired. Perhaps you'd like to help with Afghanistan-related articles, maybe you're a whizz with Australian music, or maybe you're pretty knowledgeable with Evolutionary biology! There are also non-article WikiProjects, about helping Wikipedia itself.. like the Geographical coordinates WikiProject or the Stub sorting WikiProject. As you can see the list of WikiProjects is very very diverse. You can find a large directory of them here. style="color:#000"\| After a missed issue, the WP:IND newsletter is back on track to being a regular bimonthly feature. The Indian WikiProject has seen plenty of online and off-line action, both in English as well as other Indian languages, and we now have a bigger, better format that intends to feature content and news from the English as well as other Indian language Wikipedias. Reaching out to Indians has been the theme of the Indian Wikiproject over the past couple of months, aiming to involve a greater number of Indians in editing both the English and Indian language Wikipedias. To this end, efforts to set up the Indian chapter of Wikimedia have moved into their final stages, and registration of the society is currently pending. An effort is underway to push for "WikiMarathons" at meetups, where attendees will be encouraged to edit the English and/or Indian language Wikipedias. This is intended to popularise Wikipedia editing among the general public. In addition, a [https://github.com/srikanthlogic/WikipediaDYKTweeter bot] to post DYK's from the Indian Wikiproject to [http://twitter.com/dykindia Twitter] was created and launched by User:Logicwiki.

Several FAs came up for review and were delisted, while Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles and Fundamental Duties of India was saved. Meanwhile, Chalukya Dynasty appeared on the main page on July 9, 2010. Hearteningly, the number of Good Articles increased from 130 to 136 during the same period, while the number of Featured Lists remained constant at 16. The source code for the Article Alert Bot is now available and the bot itself is expected to be up and running very shortly. This means that article alerts for the Indian Wikiproject will again be available, enabling editors to easily keep track of developments in respect of reviews, nominations, deletions etc. The date change vandal mentioned briefly in the previous issue made a reappearance when the range block on his IP range expired in September. Consequently the block was extended till September 2011. In October there was a heated [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk%3ANoticeboard_for_India-related_topics&action=historysubmit&diff=393196649&oldid=392948652 discussion] in the India project noticeboard regarding the copyright status of the Indian party symbols. The discussion was triggered by the deletion of Wiki San Roze's party symbol images by Hammersoft as copyright violations. No resolution was reached, partly because of our inability to explain to Hammersoft how election symbols in India differ from party logos. Comments are requested from anyone with a background in Indian copyright law to clarify this issue.

News from Indian-language Wikipedias

The [http://bn.wikisource.org Bengali Wikisource], which contains the literary works of many prominent writers of Bengali language including Rabindranath Tagore, has crossed the 5,000 pages milestone. According to List of Wikisource page, Bengali Wikisource is now at rank 21 among 56 Wikisource based on number of content pages.

The uploading of Tamil technical words donated by Tamil Virtual University to the [http://ta.wiktionary.org Tamil Wiktionary] was completed in October. The words were donated by the Government of Tamil Nadu due to lobbying efforts by Tamil Wikipedians during the runup to the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010 (WCTC) in June. Nearly 70,000 words were uploaded increasing the word count in Tamil Wiktionary from 1,20,000+ to 1,90,000+. This has brought Tamil to the 10th place (from 17) in the list of [http://s23.org/wikistats/wiktionaries_html.php largest wiktionaries] and has earned it a place in the [http://www.wiktionary.org Wiktionary front page logo]. In addition, Tamil Wikipedians set up a stall at the WCTC and introduced Tamil Wiki projects to people from all walks of life.

The Hindi Wikipedia and its sister wiki projects migrated to the new vector interface on September 1, 2010. In addition, Hindi is the first (and so far the only) Indian language to be incorporated into the [http://www.wikibhasha.com/ WikiBhasha] translation and contribution toolkit developed by Microsoft Research.

Malayalam wikimedian Santhosh Thottingal has developed a software (Wiki2CD) for the creation of the Malayalam Wikipedia CD, which was launched in 2010. In addition, Santosh, along with fellow Malayalam wikimedian Shiju Alex coordinated a panel discussion at Wikimania 2010 on [https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/wikimania2010/wiki/Submissions/Creating_offline_version_of_Wiki_content_-_Solutions_and_Challenges creation of offline Wiki content].

Mumbai and Delhi held their first meetups in September, where Wikimedia Board members Barry Newstead and Bishakha Datta met up with Wikipedians and other interested members of the public in these cities. A month later, Hyderabad also held its first meetup.

Wikipedians in Bangalore continued their tradition of meeting up regularly at the [http://www.cis-india.org/ Centre for Internet and Society], with the nineteenth meetup in September featuring Barry and Bishaka as attendees, and marking the release of the community newsletter. Along with Delhi and Mumbai, Bangalore is reported to be one of the three cities in contention for the Indian office of the Wikipedia Foundation.

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales had an interaction with Wikipedians followed by a [http://www.slideshare.net/HeadStart/jimmy-wales-at-wikipedia-mumbai-meet-3 presentation] to members of the public at the third Wikipedia meetup in Mumbai on October 31, 2010.

The first Wikimarathon, where Wikipedians and members of the public were encouraged to contribute to Wikimedia projects onsite, was held simultaneously at the meetups in Bangalore and Chennai on November 14, 2010. Wikipedians in Delhi also held a meetup the same day.

The Malayalam Wikipedia held several academies in different parts of Kerala over the past few months.

Commercial proxy?

I see you put a block on IP editor {{u|216.52.207.75}}. The edit history for that IP looks to me, at least, to be less than promising. I did a routine WHOIS check on the IP and it came up to a company called "Zscaler" which, according to their [http://www.zscaler.com website], is an Internet security solution provider. Reading through their site, it makes me wonder if they provide commercial proxy services, which, if I'm not mistaken, runs afoul of WP:PROXY. Any thoughts on this? I'm coming to you as the blocking admin, rather than going to a noticeboard, because I'm a) not sure whether this is in fact a proxy service, and b) I'd like some input on this before I go running around yelling "the sky is falling". Hello, I understand that I undid your edit but there is two different versions of that article. One of them is the parts of the flower but there is another one which is a room that the greeks used as a sort of sleeping quarters for the females of the house. I created a page, Mitra O Ghosh which was deleted as it was supposed to promote a publishing company. But I had no such intention. Kindly userfy deleted page [[Rono Mukherjee]]

There was a Speedy deletion nomination by WWGB at 08:14 on 26 December 2011 (UTC) of a page that I had created with the name Rono Mukherjee.

This otherwise unknown person was a director(cum composer) of a single hindi movie. Although the movie does not seem to have done well, the music scores were semi-hits.

The tag had been placed in the article and thereafter I had given my reasoning in the talkpage and requested that I should be given some time to find out more about the person and why he did not venture to make more films, but alas, GorillaWarfare at 01:50 on 27 December 2011 deleted the page.

The person has a lot many red lines in Wikipedia because he belongs to the Mukherjee-Samarth family of Bollywood, and the son of Sashadhar Mukherjee , brother of Joy Mukherjee & Deb Mukherjee, and father of Sarbani Mukherjee. I tried to create the article just in order to do away with the numerous red lines ...

MSU Interview

Dear Arjun01,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you.
