{{Hidden|style=width: 50%;|contentstyle=text-align: center;|1=Why can't I edit some particular pages?|2= Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.}}

{{Hidden|style=width: 50%;|contentstyle=text-align: left;|1=How do I create citations?|2=#Do a search on [https://www.google.com Google] or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.

  1. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  2. In a new tab/window, go to the [https://tools.wmflabs.org/makeref/ citation generator], click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  3. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  4. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like {{cite web | .... }}, copy the whole thing).
  5. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  6. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

==References==

{{Reflist}}

Dinesh Manocha

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm David Eppstein. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person{{spaces|1}}on :Dinesh Manocha, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! In particular, please see the note in WP:RSP about not using The Daily Beast as a source in a biography of a living person. The other source appears even more dubious. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:26, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hello David, I think you and I are in agreement on this matter. I would like to point out my only activity on the article ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dinesh_Manocha&diff=prev&oldid=1280077713|1], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dinesh_Manocha&diff=next&oldid=1280077713|2], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dinesh_Manocha&diff=next&oldid=1280089784|3]) consisted of adding a {{Better source needed}} tag to the Daily Beast source and fixing up the grammar in §Biography. The offending passage was not added by me but by the apparent single-purpose IP user 35.7.2.24. In retrospect, I should have deleted the passage outright, as you did ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dinesh_Manocha&diff=next&oldid=1288747282|did]). I hope this clears things up -- let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Eelmealdeal (talk) 20:04, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
