Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hey there, BASEPAGENAME, and welcome to our great encyclopedia, which currently has more than NUMBEROFARTICLES articles! Even with this large number, all of your contributions are important (including the small ones), and I hope you like the place and decide to stay! Here's a few starting tips for you:
- You might want to check out the welcome page.
- Then you can have a look at our guidelines.
- After that, you can see here for a cheatsheet on editing pages (for a bigger list, see here).
After reading all this (or even just glimpsing at it), I can understand that you might feel apprehensive about editing and contributing articles, for fear of making a mistake. But don't worry too much about mistakes; after all, you're new. Instead, everyone here encourages you to be bold! If you need help with anything, feel free to [SERVER{{Localurl:User talk:P.B. One last thing: when leaving a message on someone's talk page, don't forget to put four "tildes"

License tagging for Image:Stellaria pubera1.jpg
Thanks for uploading :Image:Stellaria pubera1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:09, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Flowers
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia{{{}#if:{}| by creating the page :{}}}. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
Hi there; pictures of flowers, however pretty, do not make a wiki article. It may be that you intended to add text later. May I suggest that articles like this might be created in a sub-page (WP:SP) and moved to main-space when complete? This will avoid distress if early deletion is chosen as an option by new-page patrollers.--Anthony.bradbury 23:01, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license GFDL-self to license it under the GFDL, or cc-by-sa-2.5 to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use PD-self to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. {}
Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading :Image:White fringed orchid.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name :Image:White-fringed-orchid.JPG. The copy called Image:White-fringed-orchid.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 21:15, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

{Image:Copyright-problem.svg}
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of :Daniel C. Drucker, and it appears to include a substantial copy of {}. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 19:37, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

leftHello, this is a message from an automated bot. File copyright problem with File:TuftsScience and Tech center-Colby St.JPG
Thank you for uploading :File:TuftsScience and Tech center-Colby St.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 03:51, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
:I see you added plain text indicating copyright but that is not the way we do it, we use copyright tags per the link above. I have replaced this text with the copyright tag PD-self which uses the same text as you added and then does not look like it is missing a copyright tag to the bots and tools that list/search for such things. If you are happy with the PD-self copyright everything is fine and maybe you will remember that you can use it in future for your own photos. ww2censor (talk) 17:54, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of :Cambridge School Volunteers
Image:Ambox warning_pn.svg A tag has been placed on :Cambridge School Volunteers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Unreferenced BLPs
30px Hello Halpaugh! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:

File source problem with File:St Judes.jpg
Thank you for uploading :File:St Judes.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created [ in your upload log]. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:16, 1 April 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Saibo (Δ) 02:16, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
