Just remember, im not expecting you to do this for me and i will respect your choice if you do not want to. Feel free to dissmiss my question. Regards! - Dencoolast33 (talk) 06:47, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

:Yes of course. We are also discussing setting up a page where requests like this can be made. You can make a comment at Wikipedia:Village pump (idea lab)#Site-wide assessment page if you wish, which would be helpful from a "customer's" point of view — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:53, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

::Thank you! Your help is appritiated! I will make sure to visit the requests page.

::Thanks again! - Dencoolast33 (talk) 08:19, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

class rating

Hi! you recently asked me to put the page rating in the banner shell on the Gates Ventures page - can you explain how to do that? I'm using the Rater tool and just following the default behavior. thanks! Elysiajous (talk) 15:22, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

:@Elysiajous it's in the top row next to {{WikiProject banner shell}} - can you see it? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:26, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

::Yup, absolutely, I can do it that way using the wikitext editor, but I usually use the Rater plugin tool and follow that tool's default behavior. Are you familiar with that tool? Is it incorrectly designed, or is there a better way to get it to put the page rating into the right place? Thanks! Elysiajous (talk) 16:41, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

:::Yes, that's what I was talking about. In the first row of rater, do you see the banner shell, and next to that you can set the class — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:08, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Preload and editintro in [[Template:WikiProject assessment category check]]

Hi, MSGJ. as part of my drive-by edits in test cases, I've stumbled upon references to Template:WPBannerMeta/templatepage/preloadmeta and Template:WPBannerMeta/templatepage/editintro, which you've deleted several weeks ago, in Template:WikiProject assessment category check (permalink). Both the preload and the editintro was there since you've created the template in 2009, so I'm sure you'll know better what to do with it. —andrybak (talk) 22:30, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

:Thanks for the note. I've updated the template so it no longer relies on these — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:25, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

'Module:Articles by class' bug

The recent changes to Module:Articles by class have introduced a bug. The variable cats was moved to module scope, however there is still a declaration with the same variable name inside function create_table (line: 59) which is hiding the module scoped variable from the usage inside the function on line 144: return out .. tostring(tab) .. table.concat(cats). This is causing categories to disappear on Wikiproject categories. ie. :Category:Stub-Class Virginia articles. --Bamyers99 (talk) 18:29, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

:Many thanks. That was indeed the problem, and you saved me a lot of time in identifying the fix — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 04:33, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

Problem with categories

Hello, MSGJ,

We have a big problem with categories that seems to have been introduced by your module editing. Please go see in the discussion at User talk:HouseBlaster#Empty assessment categories. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:38, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

Sorry

Hi, @MSGJ ... you repositioned the article copy edit completion notification that I placed on this article and the one on Guru Har Krishan. Thank you. I hadn't known the notification was supposed to be at the top of the Talk page rather than wheree we would normally add a new message. I can see, of course, that placing it at the top makes sense but I'm still sort of new to many points of Wikipedia editing, including GOCE drive work. Augnablik (talk) 11:30, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

:No problem at all! It keeps us gnomes busy ... — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:25, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

::You're one of the gnomes? Delighted to meet you! You are the first I've come across — at least, the first gnome I knew to be one. 🙂 Augnablik (talk) 12:38, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
