File:Information.svg Hello, I'm Toddy1. Please read :WP:NOINDICSCRIPT, which explains that we must "avoid the use of Indic scripts in lead sections or infoboxes." Your edit to the article on :Siliguri put Indic script into the infobox, and has therefore been reverted.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:17, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

File:Information orange.svg Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at :Chhapra . Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
It was clearly explained, above, that you should not add Indic script to our articles, but have continued to do so, please stop. - Arjayay (talk) 09:06, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

File:Nuvola apps important.svg Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at :Siliguri and Rampurhat, you may be blocked from editing.
It has repeatedly been explained to you, above, that you should not add Indic script to our articles, but have continued to do so, please stop. - Arjayay (talk) 08:50, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

:Why I don't add any native name to India cities articles. Russian cuties articles have their own russian language name with russian script, why we don't add Indian cities name with indic text. It's totally unfair. Malhar1234 (talk) 09:53, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

::Because we have a policy according to which you can't add Indian scripts in article leads and infoboxes. You can however in the other sections, if necessary. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:52, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Darjeeling district area

Hi, it is regarding [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Darjeeling_district&diff=1239263315&oldid=1236782594 this] edit in which you changed the area from 3,149 sq-km, which is sourced [https://darjeeling.gov.in/ here], to 2226 sq-km without any new source in support. Why? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:17, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Indic script

Cease removing Indic script from non-Indian articles. WP:NOINDICSCRIPT only applies to Indian articles:

"This standard is recommended for use in articles in the following fields;

Towns, cities, districts, states, protected areas and all other places within the political boundary of India.

All companies, organisations and factories which have their headquarters located in India.

All persons who are born in modern India (or British India before the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan) or have taken citizenship of India.

Historical articles and historical place names of India, including especially history prior to 1800." Obi2canibe (talk) 12:07, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

:Okay! I understand that. But Can we use Indic script in India's Historical articles and Indian culture realated article? Malhar1234 (talk) 12:13, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

::No, under WP:NOINDICSCRIPT. Also @Malhar1234, please stop adding commas to the start of various India-related biographies, it is not constructive and is not improving the articles. Commas should not be placed after the parenthetical birth and death dates unless they otherwise would in a normal sentence. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 20:40, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

Okay! I understand

Thank you! Malhar1234 (talk) 20:43, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

:Your recent edits are not correct either. Just leave the commas where they are {{emdash}} the pages that already had them were right in having them, under basic grammar conventions. As a general rule, if the word "was", "is", or "or" comes right after the parentheses/bolding, no comma is needed. Otherwise, do not remove the comma. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 21:10, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

Okay I understand that.

Sorry Malhar1234 (talk) 21:12, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

:Your edits are becoming very disruptive. If you continue like this you may be blocked. Undo all the additions of unnecessary commas.--Obi2canibe (talk) 21:15, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

December 2024

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I just want to tell you that while removing Indic scripts and other edits to the lead, please be mindful of the commas (especially the parenthetical ones). For example, "Ramanuja was an Indian Hindu philosopher" and not "Ramanuja, was an Indian Hindu philosopher". When you have parenthetical information, add commas on both sides of the parenthetical element (e.g., "Ramanuja, also known as Ramanujacharya, was an Indian Hindu philosopher", and not "Ramanuja also known as Ramanujacharya, was an Indian Hindu philosopher"). I found incorrect commas in several articles and managed to fix many of them (but there's still so much out there). You can read Wikipedia:Punctuation in the Wiki Manual of Style to know more. Thanks again for all the efforts. Happy editing. Rasnaboy (talk) 10:11, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm Jlwoodwa. An article that you recently made, :Tripura Risa Textile, seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or another application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. In particular, you should check each citation, and fictitious references must be removed. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.{{PAGENAME}} jlwoodwa (talk) 09:16, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

I have reverted your changes in Darjeeling, a Wikipedia featured article. The article was moreover vetted rigorously in a recent featured article review. Per WP:OWN#Featured_articles, please discuss your proposed edits on the talk page first and attempt to achieve a consensus for them. The WP:ONUS is yours; it is Wikipedia policy. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 10:45, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hi Malhar1234! I noticed that you made a controversial edit to the article on :Darjeeling, and when your edit got reverted, you reverted back. This is called edit warring. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable. I checked and found that you have not made any edits to :Talk:Darjeeling. This is disappointing. All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. Doing so enables other editors to understand the respective points of view and to contribute. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:30, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

File:Information orange.svg Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in :Kharagpur. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Agent 007 (talk) 18:21, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.

{{highlight|Native_name}} {{highlight|parameter should be used only if the local language is different from English.|lightblue}}

  • Use the local language/script if it's different from English. If a place's name is the same in English and the local language (e.g., "Berlin" in German and English), you don't need to use native_name.
  • If the local language uses a different script or has a different spelling, you should include it (e.g., Moscow → Москва in Russian).

Subhas Chandra Bose

File:Information.svg I have reverted your unexplained changes to the article on :Subhas Chandra Bose. This is a controversial topic, and you know it. You need to explain your proposed changes on the article talk page. The extent of your changes is so large that a diff is useless, except to show that the changes made by your 19 edits are very large.[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Subhas_Chandra_Bose&diff=1273122074&oldid=1272055522]-- Toddy1 (talk) 22:28, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

:To facilitate a discussion I have created a table comparing the two versions of the lead at :Talk:Subhas Chandra Bose#Recent big change to the lead.-- Toddy1 (talk) 23:04, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

Edit warring, personal attacks

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm 100.36.106.199. I noticed that you made a comment that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

File:Stop hand nuvola.svg Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 100.36.106.199 (talk) 16:50, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
