Hi. I've enjoyed your contributions to chess articles, both the updates and additions you've made to existing articles and the articles you have created. I have a question about Daniel Yarnton Mills. The article says that "He also represented Great Britain in all the cable matches between Great Britain and the United States (1896-1911)", but the article also says that he died in 1904. Moving the template makes the page longer and create unhelpful white space at end of article. I'd change it back but you may have some reason that I cannot think of. I'm probably not going to take part in the List of chess openings named after animals AfD. But I think a list of openings named after people is justified - that person usually had something to do with the development or popularity of the opening/variation. A list of openings named after places is almost as justified since it is usually named after the location that it debuted or the country of the person involved. Ones named after animals seem to pretty arbitrary except for a few such as the Hedgehog. I think it is hard to justify the one about animals. Hello Mrs.Hudson, Thank you for adding info on Mrs. Nonna Karakashyan daughter, Narine Karakashian (they got different spelling in their documents after moving to the US). I had to undo your spelling changes Karakashyan-->Karakashian as being incorrect but added "Her last name may also be spelled as Karakashian" to reflect spelling variation at FIDE site/documents. Currently, there are 2 pages "Nonna Karakashyan" and "Nonna Karakashian". I could cancel redirection "Nonna Karakashyan" --> "Nonna Karakashian" and set "Nonna Karakashian" --> "Nonna Karakashyan" instead. Would you please take a look? I am new to Wiki as a contributor, and not sure if I did everything correctly. Please let me know if I can be of any help in articles about Armenian chessplayers. You likely use the Chess watchlist, but did you know there is [http://toolserver.org/~tim1357/cgi-bin/wikiproject_watchlist.py?cat=0&template=WikiProject+Chess&limit=25&user=&order=desc another version] that works in a different way(based on the Chess Project being tagged on the talk page) - the downside is it does not cover talk pages and that it takes you to the toolserve to see the list but otherwise it's a nice alternative and deals with situations of article renames which for the normal version depends on the Index of chess articles being up to date. Without an agreed-upon convention, I really think it is an exercise in futility for editors to make changes as they see fit, then revert other editors how "they" saw fit! There needs to be a convention, and there currently is none. (And that goes as well for 0-0-0 versus O-O-O, too. [I have a particularly interesting unexpressed view on that too: I think "O-O-O" should be reserved for games prior to the 20th century, otherwise "0-0-0"! Besides being consistent w/ FIDE 0s, 0-0-0 looks "modern", whereas O-O-O looks "antique-ish" – and that's cool!])

Articles that are moved/renamed that are in index of chess articles need to be changed there too. The reason is that the related changes of the Index article goes by the name listed, so if it isn't updated it will list changes to the redirect page instead of the actual article. When you rename an article, you should make the change at index of chess articles too. The reason is that the "changes" to that page show changes to the article with that exact name, and after a move it shows changes to the redirect page instead of the article. I did Inna Yanovska

All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
