File:Information.svg Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. Rollback granted

Image:Wikipedia Rollbacker.svg

Hi PriceDL. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

 • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
 • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
 • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
 • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
 • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Swarm 05:04, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

WP:POLITICIANA

Governor of a state in any country is not only a clear indication of significance,m but actually passes notability . Before listing additional articles for deletion, you might want to re-read WP:Deletion policy and WP:N, including all the subrules, DGG ( talk ) 21:08, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

 • DGG Apologies, I should have listed this as a normal request, not a speedy request. You are indeed correct about the notability; I read the criteria several times but still managed to miss the classification of statewide as notable as per WP:POLITICIAN and instead treated him as a local official, which would not have guaranteed his notability. Thanks for pointing this out PriceDL (talk) 22:19, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

George Handford (composer)

Hallo PriceDL, Boleyn Did you look at the reference for George Handford (composer)? Being the topic of an article in a major reference work such as Grove Music Online is a credible indication of importance and significance. Please check more carefully before nominating articles for speedy deletion A7. PamD 21:24, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

 • PamD, Boleyn I'm happy to say the article has increased considerably since recommending deletionGeorge Handford (composer). In its current state I would not have nominated it. I did look at the source but all it did was persuade me of his existence, not his notability. I did try to find alternate sources and could not. Other people may be able to easily due to how Google's machine learning affects search results. When I nominated the article it had nothing I would deem to be a claim of significance. It is possible to disagree with this point of view if you consider the inclusion of the source without any further claim to significance other than his existence to fulfil criterion 6 of WP:CCS. I have no problems with the article in its new state. PriceDL (talk) 22:07, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

::WP:CCS is an essay. I believe that inclusion in a major reference work is of itself a credible indication of importance and significance, so the A7 was inappropriate. PamD 22:12, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

:::PamD WP:CSS states "the inclusion of reliable secondary sources may itself be an indication of significance", which means that the inclusion of secondary sources also may not be an indication of significance. I can't easily find anything that disagrees with this. PriceDL (talk) 22:40, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

::::consensus has long been that any referencing that might lead to a good faith discussion at afd is enough to prevent speedy. It certainly is part of the fundamental policy WP:NOT that inclusion in a standard reference encyclopedia in the field is sufficient to warrant inclusion in Wikipedia. More particularly, inclusion in Groves certainly is absolute proof of notability--they're the gold standard in the field. DGG ( talk ) 00:57, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:::::DGG Could you please point me to where this guidance is written to help me in future, as it appears to be rather difficult to find. PriceDL (talk) 01:13, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

::::::Hello. This article had two credible claims to notability: he is being written about 4 centuries after his death (backed up by a reliable source) and he's included in Grove Music Dictionary, which would meet WP:ANYBIO #3 (which I think may be the guideline DGG mentioned). Not everyone will have heard of Grove, but if you had typed Grove Music into the WP searchbox, its article would have stated: 'The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians is an encyclopedic dictionary of music and musicians... it is one of the largest reference works on western music. Originally published under the title A Dictionary of Music and Musicians...it has gone through several editions since the 19th century and is widely used.'

Speedy deletion is a nuclear option to be used rarely and with the utmost of care. You're right that for other reliable secondary sources (ones that don't meet ANYBIO #3), the source may or may not have been proof of notability. But you can't nominate something for speedy deletion if the reference may or may not be sufficient. I'm not sure how much time you took WP:BEFORE nominating this for speedy deletion (Google Books had lots of entries for him), or if you took into account the amount of time others would need to spend looking into it, and how dispiriting it was for the creator - mistaken prods I can deal with, as they give me time to work on it, but speedies don't. I would advise discussion on article's talk page, tagging me, and possibly a notability tag if you're concerned about an article like this, only looking at deletion once you've looked properly into whether it's worth salvaging and then avoiding speedies. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 07:03, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:I'm also not sure if you understood PamD's point that CSS is an essay (the opinion of one person) rather than a guideline (agreed by community consensus). Boleyn (talk) 07:10, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

::Boleyn Thanks for your explanation. Lots of that isn't clearly stated anywhere, certainly without a lot of cross-referencing. I must have read it at some point and glanced over it because of the example used. I do actually have a set of Grove so should have put 2+2 together. I was trying to fix lots of articles marked for clean up and found one I didn't think fixable and that without experience can appear to meet WP:A7. Thanks for your help. PriceDL (talk) 12:02, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:::my personal experience over many years here is that I cannot properly screen or fix articles if I try to do a great many at a time. For post purposes, I stop after about 10 and switch to doing something else here. Some people claim they can do many more without making errors, but I have my doubts about that. DGG ( talk ) 15:40, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

You're welcome, PriceDL, and there are a lot of guidelines, no one will know them all. Thanks for all your hard work trying to keep this a quality encyclopaedia. I agree with DGG about not doing too many at a time, although I'm not good at taking that advice myself. I know I become quite deletionist when I've done a lot of new page patrolling. Thanks again, Boleyn (talk) 18:13, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

detoxification edit

I believe the recent editor meant "spleen" for "lymphatic organ", but I'm unsure whether the spleen performs detoxification. The lymphatic system may remove some toxins; I am not sure. The kidney definitely is a route of excretion for many substances.--Quisqualis (talk) 07:42, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:Quisqualis Yes; unfortunately, without providing a citation a little difficult for me to fix it without significant effort. PriceDL (talk) 11:52, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Not to worry, as it will be a fun project the next time I find myself at loose ends and not sleepy.--Quisqualis (talk) 19:54, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:Quisqualis I wouldn't be surprised if there are no mentions currently, in which case you'll have to find appropriate articles to mention it in in order to link to it. PriceDL (talk) 12:09, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:: Thanks. Not exactly sure as to your meaning, but I will conquer Findlink.--Quisqualis (talk) 19:50, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Gabapentin

Hello, PriceDL, I'm not sure if this is what you meant by sending you a message; since I am new to editing on wikipedia. The source for the edit that I've made was the actual source within that comment. I read the study. The comment states that some have suggested it can be used for migraines, but this is a misleading statement since the study was inadequately powered, with a low number of participants (133, of whom 38 dropped out, i.e., low retention rate). This study's conclusions shouldn't even be mentioned in this article due to someone inappropriately thinking gabapentin may have some efficacy when careful analysis of the data says otherwise. What are you thoughts?

>> message >> 'Hello, I'm PriceDL. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Gabapentin, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. PriceDL (talk) 18:33, 20 April 2017 (UTC)'

:Thanks for getting back to me. The study in question appears to be referenced in a book I don't have access to, so I can't check it myself. I suspect your conclusions are accurate but not actually stated in the source, in which case they would technically come under WP:OR and therefore not be suitable for inclusion. If the study is a primary source and contrasts with generally accepted reviews on the subject, which I suspect is accurate as you say "This study's conclusions shouldn't even be mentioned in this article due to someone inappropriately thinking gabapentin may have some efficacy when careful analysis of the data says otherwise," then you are welcome to remove the source and text. I don't wish to do it myself as you seem to have access to the source to verify. Thanks PriceDL (talk) 19:14, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

:: Thanks Price, I think gabapentin's page is best served by removal of this statement, for patient safety concerns. Thanks for your diligence in editing and keeping wikipedia a strong source for reliable information. Take care. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.171.131.171 (talk) 19:24, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia from the Anatomy Wikiproject!

Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Anatomy! We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of anatomy articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are involved in editing anatomy articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing wikipedia articles are:

File:Sobo 1909 589.png

 • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
 • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing anatomy articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
 • We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
 • We write for a general audience. Every reader should be able to understand anatomical articles, so when possible please write in a simple form—most readers do not understand anatomical jargon. See this essay for more details.

Feel free to contact us on the WikiProject Anatomy talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. I wish you all the best on your wiki-voyages! Tom (LT) (talk) 01:05, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Star Jet

Why in the world would you remove references and then put a citation needed? I have them as direct external links because it refers to "websites" in text. You haven't cited any rule that this violates and it intuitively makes sense in the context of the paragraph. Please revert your most recent edit. Thank you. IronGargoyle (talk) 02:49, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

:IronGargoyle because the source doesn't back up the text PriceDL (talk) 03:04, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

::Of course it does. The old website (archived, pre-Sandy) lists it as "Star Jet" and the new website (unarchived, post-Sandy) lists the destroyed coaster as "Jet Star". That's what the references are for. I just checked them again myself. IronGargoyle (talk) 03:11, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

:::IronGargoyleI see the confusion. The way they were cited originally didn't make it clear which was meant to be which, so I assumed it to be the archived one rather than the current one. I will clarify. PriceDL (talk) 03:17, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

:File:Logo of Energylandia amusement park in Poland.png

File:Information.svgHi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to :Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Black Girl Magic

Whether you would like to admit it or not, The concept of black girl magic is racist.

It is exclusionary to other races and genders, and promotes the idea of black women being better than others. I do not believe it is a hateful movement but it is racist — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vapelord1234 (talkcontribs) 00:12, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Atlantica SuperSplash

Hello, PriceDL

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Mccapra and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've proposed an article that you started, Atlantica SuperSplash, for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criteria and I believe that the article obviously and uncontroversially does not belong in an encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

 1. Edit the page
 2. Remove the text that looks like this:
 3. Click the button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with Mccapra. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
