Following a discussion on the project talk page this may now become the regular format for the newsletter during the months that the project is less active. Eurovision articles are being repeatedly targeted by sock puppets of banned user {{User|Xtinadbest}}, who is not allowed to edit Wikipedia. The most effective way of tackling this disruption is to have all regular Eurovision article editors looking out for sock puppets. Editors should report any suspected sock puppets sighted to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations, more history can be found at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Xtinadbest/Archive. A proposal was made to change Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) to discourage the use of numeric dates, primarily YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2009-08-12 for 12 August 2009), in footnotes as at present it is only discouraged in the main article body. The proposal now seems unlikely to pass due to large levels of opposition, though it could have had a large impact on this project as the date format YYYY-MM-DD is frequently used in Eurovision for reference publication and access dates. Further discussion can be found on the project talk page. ; Eurovision News 31 countries have confirmed their participation in the 2010 Contest. ESCToday has [http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/14419 suggested] that the Eurovision Song Contest may be entering a crisis due to the possibility of a large drop in the number of participants next year with the ongoing international recession hitting the budgets of many broadcasters in Europe. Luxembourg and Monaco have both ruled out a return to the Eurovision Song Contest for 2010. A decision by San Marino on if to return or not has not yet been made. Hungary declared it is pulling out of the Eurovision Song Contest due to the financial difficulties of the national broadcaster Magyar Televízió (MTV). National selection details for the 2010 Contest are now available for sixteen countries. Despite the contest being over six months away, Bulgaria has already announced that the artist that will represent the country in 2010 will be Miroslav Kostadinov (who is frequently referred to as Miro). It has been announced that the voting system used for the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals will change in 2010. The previous system was introduced in 2008 along with the first use of two semi-finals; it involved nine out of ten final places per semi-final being determined exclusively by televote, with the tenth place being determined by juries. This will be replaced by a more balanced 50% jury voting, 50% televoting system. The 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to occur next month on 21 November. 13 countries are participating in the contest, while three (Bulgaria, Greece, and Lithuania) are withdrawing. Javine Hylton was also nominated for GA status but was quickly failed due to a large number of concerns. The nominator, {{User|Judo112}}, was later found to be a sock puppet of a previously blocked user. Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was nominated for GA status and was placed on hold for almost a month. The GA nomination has now failed due to some remaining issues.

valign="top" padding: 0em;" | | valign="top" style="border: 1px gray solid; padding: 1em;" | ; From the Members Welcome to the fourteenth edition of the WikiProject Eurovision Newsletter! There have been quite a few updates to the 2010 Contest article since 1 September. Nine countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, Macedonia, Malta, Poland, Serbia, and Slovenia) have confirmed their participation, and the article in general has seen many changes. Sadly, whilst some editors have been working hard to provide reliable sources, others have been less thorough and the article has had to be semi-protected again to prevent further disruption. This is a shame, as ideally anyone should be able to edit; however, the talk page is always available to bring new information to light. The participating countries' section has also been updated to allow the inclusion of information about the language, artist and song (with an English translation as appropriate), although to date this is very much a work in progress. As news comes in, we look forward to enriching this section in the coming months—backed-up of course with sources! No new country-specific articles have been written these past two months. If you want to add more detailed information about a country's participation in the 2010 Contest, this is the ideal way to do it, and they are very much appreciated by our readers. • At Bragging Rights, John Cena defeated Randy Orton in a 60 minute Iron Man match, by six falls to five, to win the WWE Championship.
• Jay Lethal suffered a hamstring injury at a TNA house show, but is expected to be at the next Impact! tapings.
• On October 27:
• Hulk Hogan held a press conference to announce that he has signed with TNA. It was later revealed that Eric Bischoff has also signed, and he and Hogan will be the new bookers.
• Byron Saxton made his debut on ECW as a commentator. He is filling in for Matt Striker, who has been moved to SmackDown after Jim Ross' Bell's palsy attack forced him to take time off.
• José Alvarado Nieves, better known as Super Porky, has returned to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre.
• Yoshinobu Kanemaru won the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship by defeating Jushin Liger in the finals of a tournament on October 31. The previous champion, Kenta, vacated the championship due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
• New Zealand wrestler, Adam Dykes, better known by his ring names Torch and Adam Firestorm, died on November 5 due to an apparent suicide.

• As part of the project's New Year's Resolutions, there is an ongoing effort to decrease the number of stubs to 10%. As of November 8, we are at 11.76%, with 521 articles currently in :Category:Stub-Class Professional wrestling articles. It still would be greatly appreciated if members would expand, source and improve stub articles, and a list has been placed on the stub article subpage of stub articles of well-known wrestlers and tag teams that should be fairly easy to improve.
• Based on the members list, there are currently 232 members participating in WikiProject Professional wrestling.

This is a section in the newsletter devoted to help familiarize project members with the Manual of Style and general editing tips.

1. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so do not add speculation about future events to articles.
2. Help out with the project's cleanup listing by fixing problems listed and removing the article from the listing.
3. The lead section of an article should introduce the subject and summarize the entire article.
4. If you come across an article that fails notability requirements, you can tag it for speedy deletion if the criteria apply, propose it for deletion, or nominate it at WP:AFD.
5. Be aware of words to avoid. Certain words, if chosen poorly, can subtly promote a point of view.

• On November 8, Tiger Mask IV defeated Místico to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
• WWE's official website announced the retirement of Jamie Noble on November 10.
• On November 11, it was announced that TNA had released Sojournor Bolt from her contract.
• On November 12, BBC News reported that Welsh wrestler Orig Williams, better known as El Bandito, died at the age of 78.
• Paul London won the NorthEast Wrestling Championship on November 13 by defeating Jason Blade.
• Dragon Gate announced that they had released Cyber Kong from his contract. Kong suffered a neck injury in late October, and did not feel he was healing well enough to return to wrestling, and so requested his release.
• Sky Sports announced that it would begin to broadcast Superstars in Britain on December 11. It will also start broadcasting This Week in WWE, which will first air on January 3.
• On November 20, it was reported that WWE had re-signed Mikey Batts to work as a referee.
• It was reported on November 21 that TNA had signed British wrestler, "Sweet" Saraya Knight to a contract.

1. Avoid using dirtsheets as sources. Adhere to WP:RS when adding information with a source to articles. For a list of reliable and unreliable wrestling-related sources see Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Style guide#Sources.
2. Please familiarize yourself with the general notability policy of Wikipedia. Avoid creating new articles that do not satisfy the requirements.
3. Please remember that fair use images and media can be only be used if no free equivalent is available or could be created. Fair use images uploaded when a free equivalent exists will be deleted.
4. Do not give undue weight to recent events in articles.
5. Adhere strictly to the Biographies of living persons policy when adding to information to biography articles.

:*Only add controversial, possibly contentious or libellous information if it comes from a reliable source and is verifiable.

:*Make sure that all information contained in biographies of living persons is written neutrally, from a non-point of view perspective.
