• As part of the project's 2009 New Year's Resolutions, there was an ongoing effort to decrease the number of stubs to 10%. As of January 2, we are at 10.14%, with 476 articles currently in :Category:Stub-Class Professional wrestling articles. It still would be greatly appreciated if members would expand, source and improve stub articles, and a list of well-known wrestlers and tag teams that should be fairly easy to improve is included on the stub article subpage.
• {{User|GaryColemanFan}} recapped the prgress of the project this year and since it's creation at WT:PW#2009 WP:PW progress.
• A new set of New Year's Resolutions for 2010 have been announced at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Resolutions 2010.

• 22 - Dragon Gate USA (DGUSA) presents Freedom Fight

• On December 20:
• It was reported that Ricky Steamboat, Jr. had signed a developmental contract with WWE.
• Former wrestler Colt Steel (real name C.J. Jackson) died at the age of 53. The cause of death is currently unknown.
• At Final Resolution:
• Tara won the TNA Women's Knockout Championship by defeating ODB.
• Sheik Abdul Bashir won one of the Feast or Fired briefcases, which was revealed to have the pinkslip in it. This storyline was put in place so Bashir could legitimately leave TNA.
• Roxxi broke her ankle in two places at the Impact! taping on December 21.
• On December 22, TNA announced they had signed a deal with Setanta Sports Africa to air Impact! and pay-per-views in several African countries.
• The Mexican National Trios Championship was vacated in late December, due to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre announcing Black Warrior's retirement. A tournament has been set up to crown new champions.
• It was reported that Incognito had signed a WWE contract.
• On December 25, World Xtreme Wrestling announced that Jimmy Snuka's daughter, Sarona, had signed a contract with WWE.
• Dixie Carter announced that TNA had signed The Young Bucks to a contract on December 26.
• On December 27, Cima and Gamma defeated Shingo Takagi and Yamato to win the Dragon Gate Open the Twin Gate Championship, but vacated the championship immediately afterwards.
• Melina suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament at a house show on December 29.
• On December 30, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams died at the age of 49 due to cancer.

This is the second edition of the newsletter to be in a bimonthly format. This will probably continue at least up until the next Eurovision Song Contest when the project is more active. Editors are reminded that some articles covered WikiProject Eurovision are subject to the biographies of living persons policy. This does not just include biography articles such as Alexander Rybak, but any article with material related to living persons. Such information is highly sensitive, and unsourced or poorly sourced material about living persons must be removed immediately. Material which may seen trivial to editors, such as a false claim of participation in a contest, can potentially be highly sensitive to the living persons involved. Eurovision articles on this project have been repeatedly subject to a form of sneaky vandalism. This involves unregistered users adding false information to articles such as Eurovision Song Contest 2010 (while unprotected). These false claims are then made to look legitimate through the use of "fake references" with false titles and links, [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eurovision_Song_Contest_2010&diff=314605642&oldid=314605198 example]. {{user|Cuchufleta}} was blocked indefinitely for creating multiple hoax articles with the same editing technique. Editors are advised to look out for further disruption of this kind, as it seems to be originating from a determined individial or an organised group. More information can be found at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#User:Cuchufleta. ; Eurovision News The EBU released their [http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=7923&_t=Exclusive%3A+39+countries+to+be+represented+in+Oslo participants list] for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest on 31 December 2009. 39 countries will take part. Five of these qualify directly to the final, with the 34 remaining countries each competing in one of two semi-finals (seventeen per semi-final). Five countries have declared they will be withdrawing from the contest in 2010. The Czech Republic are withdrawing due to three semi-final failures and a lack of interest from Czech viewers. Andorra, Hungary, Lithuania, and Montenegro have all declared they are withdrawing for financial reasons. Georgia is the only country that has declared it will be returning to the contest. No debuts are planned either with Liechtenstein's only broadcaster 1FLTV having ruled out joining the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for December 2009. This made a debut by the country for the 2010 Contest no longer possible. Despite the 2010 Contest being many months away countries are now actively declaring which artists and songs will be representing them at the contest. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was held on 21 November 2009 and was won by Ralf Mackenbach of the Netherlands with the song "Click Clack". Do you have news for the next issue? valign="top" padding: 0em;" | | valign="top" style="border: 1px gray solid; padding: 1em;" | ; From the Members Welcome to the fifteenth edition of the WikiProject Eurovision Newsletter! Another decade has past for the Eurovision Song Contest. The naughties will probably be remembered as a decade of both success and controversy for the contest. Televoting reached its peak in the early 2000s. This gave the contest a more democratic edge, but by 2008 it was widely believed to have made Eurovision resemble a political and geographic football match rather than a song contest. The EBU took action in 2009 by reducing televoting to having only a 50% weighting in the results of each contest. Many new countries have joined the contest in the last decade, bringing the number of participants to a new high. Among this some countries withdrew while others returned, though one of the major missing countries, Italy, did not make a return as was hoped by many. There was not a shortage of controversy either. Two participants went to war, and the buzz over the planned participation of Kosovo put Eurovision in the middle of a political storm. One also cannot forget that this decade saw the introduction of two spin-off contests - the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the Eurovision Dance Contest. • On January 4:
• WWE confirmed Tommy Dreamer's departure from the company, after his final match and farewell speech on the December 29 episode of ECW.
• WWE announced that Melina had vacated the WWE Divas Championship due to injury, and set up a tournament to determine the new champion.
• TNA held their first live edition of Impact! to compete against Raw, which featured:
• Returns from wrestlers including Jeff Hardy, Shannon Moore, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman, as well as the debuts of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Eric Bischoff.
• ODB defeating Tara to win the TNA Women's Knockout Championship.
• Hamada and Awesome Kong defeating Talyor Wilde and Sarita to win the TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship.
• At Wrestle Kingdom IV:
• No Limit (Tetsuya Naito and Yujiro) won the IWGP Tag Team Championship by defeating the former champions, Team 3D (Brother Devon and Brother Ray), and Bad Intentions (Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard) in a three-way hardcore match.
• Naomichi Marufuji defeated Tiger Mask IV to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
• On January 6, Mascara Dorada, Metro, and Stuka, Jr. defeated Dragón Rojo, Jr., Misterioso II, and Sangre Azteca in a tournament final to win the vacant Mexican National Trios Championship.
• On January 8, Steven Lewington was released from his WWE contract.
• On January 9:
• It was reported that WWE had signed Asher Knight to a developmental contract.
• It was reported that WWE had released developmental wrestler Sweet Papi Sanchez.
• On January 10:
• It was reported that WWE had released several developmental workers, including Dino Carter, Chris the BambiKiller, Lennox, Lift Swayner, Leroy Morgan, Max McGuirk, and Dylan Klein.
• Former wrestler Tony Halme was found dead at the age of 47, in his apartment in Helsinki. No cause of death has been announced.
• Dr. Cerebro defeated Tetsuya Bushi to win the IWRG Intercontinental Lightweight Championship.
• K-Ness defeated Naoki Tanisaki to win the Dragon Gate Open the Brave Gate Championship on January 11.
• On January 14, The Fortunate Sons (Brett DiBiase and Joe Hennig defeated The Dudebusters (Caylen Croft, Trent Barreta, and Curt Hawkins) to win the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship.
• The Evolve promotion held their first show on January 16.

• WWE announced the release of Eric Escobar from his contract.
• At TNA's Genesis pay-per-view event on January 17:
• TNA discontinued their six-sided wrestling ring and reintroduced their four-sided ring.
• Tara won the TNA Women's Knockout Championship by defeating ODB in a two out of three falls match.
• Matt Morgan and Hernandez defeated The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus and Doug Williams) to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship.
• Brian Kendrick and Mr. Anderson made their return and debut, respectively, to TNA.
• Ida Mae Martinez died on January 19 at the age of 78.
• On January 20:
• Ring of Honor announced the creation of the ROH World Television Championship. A tournament will be held to determine the inaugural champion at the Ring of Honor Wrestling tapings on February 5 and 6.
• The all-female promotion, Wrestlicious, announced that they had signed a deal to air their television show Takedown with BiteTV in Canada and MavTV in the United States.
• On January 22, it was reported that Alissa Flash had left TNA.
• On January 23:
• Da Heavy Hitters (Monsta Mack and Havok) won the JAPW Tag Team Championship in a three-way tag team match.
• Davey Richards won the FIP World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Masaaki Mochizuki at the DGUSA Fearless pay-per-view taping.
• On January 27:
• Rob Terry defeated Eric Young to win the TNA Global Championship at a house show in Cardiff, Wales, in TNA's first championship change at a house show. His win also made him the first Welsh champion in a major wrestling organisation, and was the first time a TNA championship had changed hands outside of the United States.
• It was reported that former Stampede Wrestling mainstay, Nick Pacchiano had died.
• On January 28, Doug Williams defeated Amazing Red to win the TNA X Division Championship.
