Managing a conflict of interest

File:Information.svg Hello, Ricardojimenezperis. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article LeanXcale, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{tl|request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.{{#ifexpr: ({{CURRENTTIMESTAMP}} - 20170820230347) < 5000000000 | {{PAGENAME}} | }} TonyBallioni (talk) 23:03, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

I didn't know about this policy. Obviously, I have a conflict of interest since I am the founder and CEO of the company. But it is obvious that all other database company entries have not been created by someone external to the company or without a conflict of interest to the company. Let us be serious. It is simply that the user appears not to have a relation, what simply looking at an email it is impossible to know that it is the only identification for contributing in wikipedia. One can always ask a friend to write the entry and it does not make any difference. Ricardojimenezperis (talk) 01:39, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

:Yes. Very true, which is why many of us work to make sure that advertising and promotion of companies that are not considered notable by Wikipedia's standards isn't allowed in the encyclopedia. Notable here is a technical turn of phrase that basically means "If you saw all the sourcing written on a subject, you would know it should be included in a general purpose encyclopedia." You can read more about that policy at WP:Notability. It is important to note that being notable is not the only requirement for inclusion in Wikipedia: the subject must also not be excluded by WP:What Wikipedia is not, which included Wikipedia is not a platform for advertising. Hope this is helpful and helps explain things for you. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:46, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

File:Information orange.svg Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [http://s.leanxcale.com]{{PAGENAME}} MrOllie (talk) 16:30, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
