    Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page :Donald Machholz has been reverted.
    Your edit [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=867880476&oldid=867878493 here] to Donald Machholz was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/cometmachholz) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
    If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 16:03, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

    Donald Machholz

    File:Information.svg Hello, Washedlikeadish. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Donald Machholz, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

    • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
    • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{tl|request edit}} template);
    • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
    • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
    • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

    In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

    Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.{{#ifexpr: ({{#time: U | now}} - 1661925603) < 13150000 | {{PAGENAME}} | }} -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:00, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

    : Hi Washedlikeadish. I've added the above template for information purposes. If you plan to continue editing the Wikipedia article about your husband, you probably should take a look a relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines related to conflict of interest editing because knowing what the Wikipedia community expects from such editors might help you avoid problems down the road. If you have any questions about this or about Wikipedia editing in general, you can ask them below or at the :Wikipedia:Teahouse. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:03, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

    Minor edits and COI editing

    File:Information.svg Hi Washedlikeadish! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at :Wikieup, Arizona that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:54, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

    :Please be very careful when making edits like this one you made to :Wikieup, Arizona. First, you're adding content to a Wikipedia article about someone for which you've declared you have a connection to. It's not only the stand-alone article about your late husband to which :WP:COI applies, but any article which may mention him. It's probably better for you to stick to edit requests as explained in :WP:PSCOI#Steps for engagement when you want to newly add or edit article content about him. It will help you to avoid running into problems. Next, you probably shouldn't mark any edit you make to existing article content about him as a :WP:MINOR edit, even if it's one of the types of edits listed in :WP:COIADVICE. In practice, only certain types of edits qualify as "minor" and your edit isn't really one of them and this would be so even if you didn't have a COI. Finally, it might be a good idea for you to at least declare your COI to content related to your husband on your userpage. There are couple of ways for you to do this, but many people use :Template:Userbox COI. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:09, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

    ::Thank you for your kind words of advise. MicheleMachholz (talk) 05:39, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

    ::Additionally, as Donald Machholz wife and executor of his estate, I watch all edits about him to protect his legacy and accuracy of his life. Thank you again. MicheleMachholz (talk) 05:44, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

    :::Hi Michele. You might want to look at :WP:BLPSELF for reference since Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy still applies to persons who have recently died. If you notice someone making problematic edits to the article, you should follow :WP:COIADVICE and avoid trying to fix them yourself unless it's a really serious problem requiring immediate action. You don't, however, really have any final editorial control over article content because it's about your husband as explained here and it's quite possible that over time something could be added that you might not like as explained here. It's not really Wikipedia's purpose to protect someone's legacy per se, and content that might not be favorable to the subject of an article can be added as long as it done in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Any disagreements over article content are, for the most part, going to be expected to be resolved per :WP:DISPUTERESOLUTION and :WP:CONSENSUS. The thing you want to avoid at all costs is anything resembling :WP:EDITWARRING no matter how right you think you might be because that's one of the fastest ways of having your account blocked by an administrator. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:05, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
