Image:Information.svg Hello, I'm Tropicalkitty. I noticed that in [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1118365325&diff=1121139399 this edit] to :Snickerdoodle, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tropicalkitty (talk) 18:28, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

Could you explain your deletion of my edit? It seems accurate to me.sbelknap (talk) 02:49, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

Ice cream

I undid your edits because they did not seem to improve the article. What was it you were trying to do? "20th century" is correct, we only use "20th-century" for adjectival use. John (talk) 17:37, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

:ok...then why did you remove the hyphen from 19th-century fruit pies? Yaksmarrow (talk) 18:59, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

::I was trying to improve the article by removing a bunch of incorrect edits you had made. If you understand when to use the hyphen and when not to, and just made a mistake, great. If you're not sure, better leave it to others to do. Thanks. John (talk) 19:18, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

:::I'm not the hyphens patrol nor do I have strongly held views about this. As far as I'm concerned, ordinals are always adjectives. ESL friends of mine have told me hyphens are helpful to them in this use context. Personally, I don't care if we use hyphens at all. Yaksmarrow (talk) 19:32, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

::::Thanks. That makes sense. Wikipedia articles have to follow our manual of style. If you are unsure about hyphens, best avoid adding or removing any from our articles. John (talk) 20:32, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

It is very annoying that you keep removing hyphens from articles. We have already discussed why it is correct to include hyphens. I don't agree to removing them. You made no useful changes and removed hyphens from the paragraph I was expanding. You did not even fix the broken "[World War II]]". Please find someone else to bother. Yaksmarrow (talk) 22:04, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

:I am sorry it annoys you but this is a collaborative project. As I explained we need to follow the MoS. Hyphens are only used in adjectival uses of "Xth century", and the rest of the time we don't use them. I suggest learning the rule and following it, or else following your own statement at 19:32 on 30 November, and not caring when others fix your mistakes. I would prefer the former but it's up to you. File:Information.svg Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

{{Edit summary field/OOUI}}

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting {{myprefs|3|check={{int:tog-forceeditsummary}}}}, and then click the "{{int:saveprefs}}" button.

Thanks!{{sp}} ... discospinster talk 22:19, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

:I'm not going to do that for every edit but I'll try to use edit summaries in this kind of situation. I don't even know what happened, I am looking for my edit that I lost because of an edit conflict. Maybe I should take a break, I didn't realize I was doing anything different but I stopped explaining my edits from some combination of being tired and pissed off. Sorry about that. I'm going on a hiatus until I don't want to break things. Yaksmarrow (talk) 22:21, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

::It's a good idea to use an edit summary for every edit, even if you just say "fix spelling" or "remove space" or something. Don't stress about it, here's a tip: if you're making a significant change to an article, copy the content into a notepad app so that if there's an edit conflict, or you hit the wrong button, you won't lose it. ... discospinster talk 23:57, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

Cuisine of the 13 colonies

You have removed the correct figures from the source and returned them.incorrect figures that were on. You have also left the citation error. Is there a reason you do not wish to use the figures that are given in the source Sharnadd (talk) 13:45, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

:It appears that the thread Talk:Cuisine of the Thirteen Colonies#Incorrect figures is about this. Probably best to reply there. Meters (talk) 02:37, 22 April 2025 (UTC)

:I was just reading an interesting essay on cannibalism that I'm not sure belongs in the cuinsine article, so I have nothing to add right now. I'll leave that to you and Rjensen. What I saw were unsourced insertions of the term British borderlands to the article, and other changes to sourced content. My only comment is the term "British borderlands" may be unfamiliar to readers and should be explained. Yaksmarrow (talk) 09:51, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

::Ah you changed what I had out on that was sourced from 2. I didn't put the borderlands part on I think that may have been RJensen it's not a term that I would use Sharnadd (talk) 12:24, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Zante currants

as there is more than one shown in them photo the plural Eccles cakes would apply Sharnadd (talk) 14:04, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

:That's fine. The article is about a type of currant so is one photo of culinary uses enough? Yaksmarrow (talk) 09:52, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

::Add more if you feel its needed Sharnadd (talk) 12:21, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Flaky pastry

Is there a reason you have removed the majority of the article flaky pastry I had assumer it was an accident but you have removed the main body along with several resources Sharnadd (talk) 14:07, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

:I explained on the talk page where you started a discussion. Yaksmarrow (talk) 09:30, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

::Thanks I've read it there may just be a redirection page then Sharnadd (talk) 08:12, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
