Vix Note
The Vix Note or Vyx Note ({{langx|hu|Vix-jegyzék}} or {{lang|hu|Vyx-jegyzék}}) was a communiqué note sent by {{ill|Fernand Vix|hu}} (or Vyx), a French lieutenant colonel and delegate of the Entente, to the government of Mihály Károlyi of the First Hungarian Republic, notifying them of the Entente's intention to make Hungary evacuate and withdraw from more territory than agreed in the Armistice of Belgrade. The note ultimately contributed to the downfall of the First Republic and the establishment of the Hungarian Soviet Republic, and is credited with bringing about the end of Hungarian rule over the region of Transylvania.{{cite journal|title=The Vix Mission in Hungary, 1918-1919: A re-examination|first=Peter|last=Pastor|journal=Slavic Review|volume=29|issue=3|pages=481–498|year=1970|doi=10.2307/2493161|jstor=2493161|doi-access=free}}{{cite journal|url=http://epa.niif.hu/01900/01994/00001/pdf/CARHS_1974_12-28.pdf|title=Franco-Rumanian Intervention in Russia and the Vix Ultimatum: Background to Hungary's Loss of Transylvania|first=Peter|last=Pastor|journal=The Canadian-American Review of Hungarian Studies|volume=1|issue=1–2|pages=12–28|year=1974}}{{cite book|url=http://mek.oszk.hu/03400/03407/html/439.html|title=History of Transylvania|chapter=The End of Hungarian Rule in Transylvania|first=Zoltán|last=Szász|publisher=Institute of History of the Hungarian Academy of Science|volume=3|year=2002|pages=1–787}}{{cite book|url=http://mek.oszk.hu/03400/03407/html/440.html|title=History of Transylvania|chapter=The Socialist Alternative: A Soviet Republic|first=Zoltán|last=Szász|publisher=Institute of History of the Hungarian Academy of Science|volume=3|year=2002|pages=1–787}}
