The voiced uvular lateral approximant is a type of consonantal sound used in some spoken languages. The symbol in the International Phonetic Alphabet that represents this sound is {{angbr IPA|ʟ̠}}, and the equivalent X-SAMPA symbol is L\_-
. {{angbr IPA|ʟ̠}} may also represent the pharyngeal or epiglottal lateral approximant, a physically possible sound that is not attested in any language.{{sfnp|Ladefoged|Maddieson|1996|p=191}} The letter for a back-velar in the Uralic Phonetic Alphabet, {{angbr IPA|ᴫ}}, may also be used.
