Madhu Koda (Born January 6, 1971 at Patahatu in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand) is a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Jharkhand, a state of India. On Monday, September 18th, he will be sworn in as the fifth Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

35 year-old Madhu Koda began his political career as an activist with the All Jharkhand Students Union, and eventually became associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He won in the 2000 Assembly elections from Jaganathpur as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. In the government headed by Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, Madhu became the Panchayati Raj Minister. He subsequently held this post when Arjun Munda took over the reins in 2003.

During the 2005 Assembly Elections in Jharkhand, the BJP denied Koda a ticket. He contested as an Independent candidate and won from Jaganathpur once again, defeating his nearest rival from the Indian National Congress by over ten thousand votes. With a fractured mandate in the state, Koda agreed to support a BJP-led government led by Arjun Munda, taking over as the Minister of Mines and Geology.

In September 2006, Madhu and three other independent legislator's withdrew support to the Munda government, bringing it into the minority. In the subsequent period, the opposition United Progressive Alliance decided on him as consensus candidate to become Chief Minister. His government will include the participation of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Rashtriya Janata Dal, United Goans Democratic Party, Nationalist Congress Party, All-India Forward Bloc, 3 independent MLA's (besides himself), and the outside support of the Indian National Congress and Communist Party of India - Marxist Leninist. He will be sworn in on September 18th, 2006.

Oxley residences is a university accommodation owned by the University of Leeds. It is located approximately 3.5 miles from the university, and is near the university playing fields. It houses up to 460 students. Oxley Hall and Bardon Grange were constructed in the 1850s, and the hall has been restored to it's original victorian appearance. The main accommodation buildings were purpose-built as student accommodation.

Oxley mostly offers en-suite single accomodation in three-storey blocks with two flats per floor, each with five rooms and a kitchen. Shared-bathroom facilities, along with some shared rooms, are available in Oxley House and Bardon Grange.

Facilities at Oxley Residences include a bar, a music practice room with a piano available, a pool room, and two laundrettes. It is a short distance from Headingley, which is a popular student area around Leeds.

The Puriri Shied is the name of a shield from Christchurch, New Zealand that is slowly growing in popularity around New Zealand. The title holder, or Shied, can defend against any number of competitors, and in any form of competition that they deem fit. The Puriri Shied changes hands when a competitor beats the Shied at their own stipulations and rulings.

The current Shied is D.C. Aitchison (Darren Aitchison) from Raglan, New Zealand.

The Puriri Sheid began when two great men with nothing to do, set about the task of smashing things with a baseball bat. After smashing such things as overgrown grass and a darts board, the men came across a fancy chair and after some rigerous busting up, the Shied was born of this carnage. The Shied has since been defended many times and has becoem somewhat of a legacy in New Zealand social circles.

D'Tap started and back in 2002 as a group of college students of Rahula College Matara. Tharindu and Pramudith shouldered the responsibility of taking initiative first.

They did their first live performance as a sextet in 2002 April with 4 other college friends at ANDANTE 2002 western music concert

Mean while Tharindu and Pramudith added their different flava to their exclusive remixes which they did separately as DJ Thari of Unlimited DJ Zone and DJ Marc of SPICE DJs.

D'Tap met Centigradz in Aug 2004 at e-society & that's where the deep friendship of D'Tap and Centigradz Started.

They did another concert in co-operation with Centigradz and ORACLE Sri Lanka in September 2004

In late 2004 Other two members of D'tap, Dayan (Shakin) and Dimuthu (D.P ) joined the crew and DP wrote the Nethkonin lyrics and it helped to make D'Tap to make their own identity.

Mean while, the disaster of the century, Tsunami hit SL & badly affected the Southern coastal areas of SL including D'Tap's Home town, MATARA. Therefore D'Tap postponed their musical projects in Dec 2004 as a respect to the death of tsunami. And another reason for this was all the crew members were busy with their studies too.

D'Tap started their different tap Of music back again with a new motto, A dIffErEnt tAp Of mUsIc in June 2005.

They started doing non-stop track making projects at D'Tap Studios to cover the time loss for music they had and they finished their own 6 tracks which they scheduled to play on their very first huge concert as D'Tap with all 4 crew members by Aug 2005. They can never forget the support they got from of The Melody and the D'Tap Djs Crew for all this.

"The Urumaya" - Down South,

that was a huge step of D'Tap of their long journey in music. It was the most over crowded concert ever in the history of Down South even until today. ST. Thomas' boys school main hall was flooded with D'Tap and Centigradz fans.

The most hitting tracks of D'Tap – Mad love and Neth Konin were performed for the first time on the stage and the audience's feedback for that was very much beyond the expectation. For the track Madlove D'Tap featured with Ana (female vocalist of mad love) to add a female flava to their music

As the last live performance of D'Tap for year 2005, they performed on Centigradz Live in Concert 2005 with Centigradz at Bishops College Auditorium on Oct 2005 and cheered up the audience with their unique voices and music .

D'Tap released Mad love in Jan 2006 as their first track for media and internet.And these days, "Neth koni" track is also air playing and have become a huge hit among the D'Tap fans of Sri Lanka and Mad Love become a Top hit on Y FM Top 40 Chart.

Now The D'Tap has a collection of their RnB and Hip Hop Music which you can hear as the Album called "A dIffErEnt tAp" by the end of 2006.

Agyrios N. Theofilopoulos was born in Patras, Greece on November 23, 1942. He received his MD from the University of Athens Medical School and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine. After a required two year stint in the Greek army as a medical officer, he went to the U.S. in 1970 on a Rotary International Fellowship as a research fellow in rheumatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Following training in immunopathology at the Scripps Research Institute, he became a professor in the department of immunology.

The central theme of Dr. Theofilopoulos' research is the definition of the mechanistic and etiologic aspects of systemic lupus erythematosus and other autoimmune diseases utilizing unique mouse models. His early work on the biology of immune complexes led to the identification of receptors of soluble complement components on lymphoblastoid cells. He used cells displaying these receptors to develop the “Raji Cell Assay” to characterize immune complexes, used to establish diagnostic markers for many disorders. This was followed by work on lupus in mouse models and his models became the primary experimental vehicle worldwide for the study of the pathogenesis of this disease. His later research has centered on the molecular aspects of autoimmune diseases and cancer, particularly with regard to autoantibody and T cell receptor genes.

Italian classical pianist Loredana Brigandì is among the few pianists in the world who researches, records and helps popularize the works of important but lesser known authors of classical music of the past.

In 1996 her name became known internationally with the issue of the complete edition of Ignaz Moscheles' piano works, op.70, in a world premiere recording for Nuova Era, which won outstanding praise from international critics and continues to receive abundant playing time on the most important Radio stations in Europe and the United States of America.

Towards the end of 1997, dedicating herself with increasing passion to the task of studying and researching great forgotten composers, Loredana decided to withdraw from her didactic activities which saw her, at an extremely young age, holder of a chair of Principal Pianoforte at the Conservatory of Reggio Calabria, Italy since 1984.

In 1999 the international music scene welcomed another world premiere from Loredana on the Nuova Era label. On this occasion she released the complete sonatinas of Friedrich Kuhlau, which, as with the Moscheles disc, involved works which were already available in printed form.

The search for unpublished works developed a few years later from the very impossibility of finding works which were not already recorded and published. In this context, driven by the desire to bring new life to the piano repertoire (somewhat lacking in the whole area of works from forgotten composers) and by the thought of the quantity of splendid music waiting to be discovered, she decided that she should devote herself to the rediscovery of all those works that merited a return to prominence and which had caught her interest not only for what they offered to a researcher, but also for what they offered to a pianist.

In June 2000 she went to Denmark, where she found the Sonatas, Variations and the Rondos of Friedrich Kuhlau in the Royal Library of Copenhagen. In July 2002 she recorded these new works at the Swiss Radio Auditorium in Lugano in two cds, released a few years later on the Nuova Era Records label.

Shortly after, she rediscovered other significant works of the Hungarian composer Ignaz Moscheles ( 1794-1870 ) including Sonatas and Fantasies from her recording in June 2006 to be released shortly.

Electronic\Pop music artist David Wayne was born on March 4, 1966 in Lawrence MA, to Carpenter, Walter Gulezian and mother Patricia Sawtelle. He moved to New York City at the age of nineteen and years later graduated Cum Laude from the University of the City of New York with a BA in Art History and French. During this time at University, he began working with musician friends producing their music and writing & recording his own work. Soon after, he begain writing and recording his own music.

In 1999 his first cd on the Geotown label was released to critical acclaim. Reviewers spoke of the warm and interesting retro feel of his work, naming other artists such as Depeche Mode in describing his music.

In 2001 "life among the waves" was released on the same label. This release had well over 100,000 listens on mp3.com and enjoyed further critical and public acclaim.

The artist now lives in Rome, Italy with his wife Loredana Brigandi and continues to work on new music.

One of the most feared weapons in the whole gaming world. This is a major weapon in the RPG game Fable and Fable The Lost Chapters. It was forged long before the Old KIngdom and was used by a powerful lineage of kings called the Archon. They used the Sword to rule over Albion. But after a while the Sword began to change them. The world was slipping into darkness. Soon towering guards were summoned to protect their castles and structures. People were killed for no reason. Suddenly the Sword and the whole of the Old Kingdom disappeared into darkness.

Centuries later the Sword was still lost but there were a few people who tried to uncover it to bring back the peace of the Old Kingdom before the kings were corrupted. They never succeded. But the Archon's lineage lived on through a particular family passed down to a mother and her two children. A boy ( the main protagonist in the game) and a girl. Undortunately for them a sinister 'thing' since it wasn't a hero. He wasn't even a man heard about them and wanted to unlock the Sword to fuel his hatred to the rest of the world. He captured the mother and the sister but the boy escaped. Later on he used one of the boys now a fully grown mans friend and teacher to unlock the Septimel Key that would activate the ancient Focus Sites across Albion which would unlock the Sword.

The hero was unable to stop Jack for that was his name. Jack Of Blades. He took the mother and daughter to the Chamber of Fate in the Heroes Guild where the Hero was trained. There Jack slit the mother's throat and as she fell her blood touched the Sword and it was unlocked. Jack took the Sword and tried to kill the Hero with it. If he had succeded he would have use it to make Albion burn but the Hero managed to defeat him and then have the choice whether to kill the sister and take the Sword for himself and rule or cast it away and destroy it forever. That is the main choice in the main game Fable and it finishes after that but in The Lost Chapters it continues with or without the Sword and the Hero has to permanently destroy Jack once and for all.

The Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory (SIL) in the Department of Geological Sciences, University of Saskatchewan has facilities for the analysis of a wide range of stable and radiogenic isotopes for use in environmental, palaeoclimate and geological investigations.

The SIL is fortunate to have a range of modern equipment, supported by an active group of staff and students. The SIL provides analyses in many isotope systems, including Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd and Pb-Pb analyses of rocks, minerals, ores and other samples; H, C, O and/or N analyses of water, carbonates, phosphates and organic materials. Analytical capabilities in non-traditional isotopes such as Cr, Ca and Mg as well as in U-series dating are also being developed.

Projects undertaken at the SIL regularly range from local, provincial, national to international in scope and are performed in collaboration with academics, government agencies, exploration and mining companies or with environmental consultants.

The SIL also hosts a number of databases for international use, including the DateView geochronology and Ion Exchange Resin databases. Various software packages for the processing of isotope and geochemical data have been developed by SIL staff and may be downloaded from this site.

Hannibal was the name of a ship which was used during the years of 1693 and 1694 to transport slaves. The ship is most remembered for its disastrous voyage during the year 1694. The ship itself weighed closed to three hundred and fifty tons or approximately seven hundred thousand pounds. Hannibal was led by a captain by the name of John Phillips.

The Captain – John Phillips was a British captain and a member of the Royal African Company. He became deaf on the disastrous voyage in 1694 and did not command any more voyages following that one.

The Disastrous Voyage, which occurred in 1694, began as any other slave trade during that time did. There were seven hundred slaves which were to be taken to the “New World” from Africa by means of the Middle Passage. Upon boarding the ship the slaves were handcuffed to one another in pairs of two. They were handcuffed on their wrist and put in shackles around their legs. These constraints were said to lead to many quarrels amongst the slaves due to falling into one another.

The actual voyage which began with seven hundred became disastrous because during the course of the voyage the number of slaves diminished from the original seven hundred to only arriving in the “New World” with three hundred and eighty. This means on the course of the voyage three hundred and twenty slaves died and were dumped overboard by the captain John Phillips. Slaves may have been thrown overboard to insure that insurance could be collected on the slaves rather than just a pure profit lose. Also some slaves may have jumped out of pure fear of being a slave in an unknown land.

The Copper River Record is a small independent bi-monthly newspaper in Glennallen, Alaska. It is published on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. A typical issue runs 20 pages.

The paper was founded in 1977 by Sam Lightwood and was called the Copper Valley Views. It ceased publication around 1990, and resumed publication in mid-2001 as the Copper Valley Weekly. However, plans for a weekly publication never came to fruition and the name was eventually changed to the Copper Valley BI-Weekly although it actually published bi-monthly.

In January 2006 it was sold to Mary and Jim Odden, and renamed to its current name.

Dead Loc't is a hard rock/heavy metal band formed in 2004 by guitarist Kyle Pfeiffer and vocalist Roman James. The two then recruited bassist Todd May and drummer Brandon Schmidt only a month after writing songs together. The band played various shows around the Black Hills area of South Dakota, spawning a local hit, witch was a demo track entitled "Victim."

The band broke up in late 2005 from having musical differences and tention between the band. They were unheard from for over a year.

August 2006 rolls around and there are rumours of the band in their studio writing new songs. They were true. Dead Loc't was back together after more than a year apart. The band was immediatley signed to Loct Records and are planning on releasing an E.P entitled "Back With a Vengeance" on November 2, 2006.

The band has had QUITE a following in the months of Dead Loc't getting back together. Their Myspace page has reached the 20,000 view count mark in only 8 days! Richard S. Moseley, Animal artist, principally dogs. Best known for his work from 1863 to the early twentieth century, he is known to have completed commissions for King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.

He was born in Pontefract in about 1843, but his parents came to Clapham in the late 1850's. In 1871, he was living in Clapham with his wife, Rachel, and children Harrold, Clifford and Endura. By 1901, he had deducted 7 years from his age and was a boarder with Miss Emmeline Walter at Worplesdon, Surrey.

Many of his paintings were of specific dogs, such as of Beau, an important early pillar of the Mastiff stud book, depicted with a pug. Moseley often used the device of having a small dog in a picture to emphasise the size of is main subject. One of a Mastiff with a small white terrier is in the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog. He was also the painter of the Irish Water Spaniel, "Captain", which appears in Vero Shaw's illustrated book of the dog. Several of his works were exhibited at the Royal Academy

Type to Learn 3 is a computer typing program manufactured by Sunburst Technology. It is used by many schools around the nation, and is also used by children as well as adults at households. It's purpose is to help non-experienced key board typers become effiecent at typing, helping them in school and their future career. Cheat day is the concept that individuals should have a day during the week in which they "pig out" and consume junk food. It is based on the idea that such individuals are living a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise, and that by consuming unhealthy food once in while, the their metabolism is actually "re-spiked."

Individuals who have been on strict diet all week long and have been doing it consistently, often allow themselves to "cheat" as it often does more good than harm. This practice is very common among competitive bodybuilders. It is often the case that such indviduals look better the day after the contest, after they've had the post-contest celebration meal of pizza, hamburgers, etc. This is because the months of severe dieting may have put their bodies into "starvation mode."

The physiological explanation is that when an invidiual increases calories consumed and adds foods that have been restricted for a long period of time (fats and carbohydrates), this actually speeds up one's metabolism and results in a leaner look - it's like telling one's body, "We're not starving anymore; it's safe to start burning more calories now."

In conclusion, it should be noted that how intensely one should do this is based on individual cirmcumstances and preferences. Some people choose to just go all out for the entire day and eat thousands of calories at a time, while others simply have a cheat meal. This is often deteremined by a multitude of factors such as how rigorious their diet and exercise program is, their age, their alchohol consumption habits, and personal body type.

Eprise is the name of a content management software product. It is also the name of the company (Eprise Corporation) that developed it in the period between 1997 and 2001. The company was originally founded by Jon Radoff.

Eprise went public on the NASDAQ market in 2000. It was one of the last technology companies to go public during the Internet Boom of the late nineties. The company was later acquired by Divine Inc.

In the deteriorating market for public Internet software companies of the early 2002, Divine Inc. went bankrupt. However, the Eprise product and brand were spun out into a new company named Silkroad Technologies, Inc., run by former Divine Inc. founder Andrew J. "Flip" Filipowski. Mission Developing... The snowball first rolled in 2001, when vocalist Dua Boayke and guitarist Salim Akram tag teamed as an acoustic duo called The Kaizen Komplex. The two unraveled politically fueled poetic sets for the coffee shop crowd.

Mission Begun... In 2003, the group gained momentum when drummer Sheel Dave of the Boston metal magnate Irepress signed on to help Salim and Dua twist unique blends of jazz, hip-hop, rock and rhythm. They started calling themselves The Eclectic Collective, but they hadnt truly earned the title yet.

Mission Rolling... Late in 2003, the unit emboldened its eclecticism when keyboardist RP Thompson, bassist Graham Masser, turntablist Special Blend and guitarist Santi Araujo joined the ranks. The extended rhythm section added not only to the crews instrumental depth, but to its multiracial fabric: not only can EC jam, but a group shot of its roster would make for a proper college brochure cover.

Mission Expanded... By 2004, the group had locked down the Boston scene. With the range to serenade rock, jazz and blues clubs, plus the addition of trumpet playing rap artist AfroDZak, EC arrived at the ability to provide undeniable relief from pop culture and its predisposed restrictions on modern music. And to ice the layer cake, they enlisted queen vocalist Noni Kai to beef up the soul and saxaphonist Rob Oswald to polish the brass. The sound finally came full-circle at the rare intersection where jazz, soul, metal, rock and boom bap rev their engines in unison.

Mission Accomplished... With many of their contemporaries rushing annual projects, EC deliberately focused on the necessary efforts needed to get ten individuals clockworking well-synched tracks. The result of their live grind and studio hustle is Time Flies, the bands ten-song debut that transcends niche nonsense and showcases the groups dynamic structure, conglomerate of talent and massive crossover potential in every genre outside of honky tonk.

DIGIFANT - The Electronic Motor Management System

Digifant is the name Volkswagen gave to its in-house derivative of the Bosch L-Jetronic computerized engine control system.

The system contains mixture control with lambda closed loop, automatic idle stabilization, feedback control of the charge air pressure and spark advance angle control with knock control. There is also an on-board diagnostic system.

The Digifant electronic control unit incorporates all the functions of the fuel system and ignition system and provides both the actuation signal for the fuel injectors and optimum ignition timing point for all engine operating conditions.

Injection duration opening signals are provided based on the following inputs:

• Engine speed

• Intake air volume

• Coolant temperature

• Oxygen content in the exhaust gas

• Battery voltage

• Throttle position

• Intake air temperature

The injector opening time is taken from a program in the control unit at 16 points for RPM and 16 points for load for a total of 256 operational points. Injection times can be determined between these fixed points for a total of 65,000 theoretical different opening duration points.

The "hole" refers to places in a semiconductor where an electron has been dislodged, thus creating a positive charge. These "holes" or positive charges can be created by heat or imperfections in the creation of the imaging chip. The "holes" are accumulated, or trapped, in a separate semiconductor layer that acts as a diode that prevents them from returning or creating noise. "HAD" technology suppresses the fixed pattern noise that results from "dark" current that occurs regardless of the amount of absorbed light. By fabricating a hole-accumulation layer below the surface of the CCD, "dark" current can be suppressed at the source.

Divis Tower is a high-rise building located on Falls Road in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Completed in 1966, Divis Tower is 61m (200 feet) high and is currently the fifth tallest building in Belfast City. Until very recently, the top two floors of the 19-story tower were occupied by the British Army as an observation, but plans to demilitarize the West Belfast tower were announced in August 2005. The building, primarily residential, is the last remaining of the Divis Flats and has undergone substantial renovation in recent years. Atop the tower, an Irish tricolour and two black flags can now be seen.

Brian Anguish born December 18th, 1984 in a small West Texas town of Odessa. Brian was raised by his parents Keith and Stacey Anguish. Keith a born Ohioian and Stacey a southern girl from Missiouri. They actually met in Odessa when their two families moved to West Texas for the 70's Oil Boom. Brian has an older brother named KT and that is his only sibling. Brian and KT are 2 years apart. Brian has gone through many hardships in his life. When he was just 7 years old he was pushed through a sliding glass door and was cut pretty badly and nealry bleed to death. He has a scar right under his chin that nearly gut his air way in his throat. Brian, a fighter nursed his wounds back with the help of Scientologist Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes/Cruise.

Brittany McKean, community volunteer and amateur comedianne, was born in Fontana, California on September 4th, 1988. She has been living in Riverside since birth and is a graduate of Martin Luther King High School. Not only just a comedianne, Ms. McKean shows her talents in education as well, as proven by the numerous academic awards she has earned.

Beginning in the Fall of 2006, McKean will be attending the University of California, Davis located twenty minutes out of Sacramento. With an intent to major in English, Brittany McKean will surely add to her comedy talent as she broadens her vocabulary along with her jokes and volunteer work.

Dysphoric Undertones is the first full-length album by Vuotare. Recorded at The Other Side Studios in two straight weeks during the month of August, 2005. The album runs as one long song divided into seven acts, the last being a hidden track. Dysphoric Undertones deals conceptually with the search for the meaning of life and what lies ahead after death. 'A Ghost of Flesh' is a concept taken from a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe. Mission Netaji (http://www.missionnetaji.org) is an Indian non-profit trust established in 2005. Based in Delhi, Mission Netaji concentrates its work chiefly on unraveling one of the long-standing mysteries in world history, surrounding the disappearance of the Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. According to official lines, Netaji Bose was killed in an airplane crash in Taihoku in the erstwhile Formosa (now Taiwan). But based on the various testimonials by the Japanese officers of the war time and the subsequent inquiries held by many foreign governments, there never occured such a plane crash. There are no official records pertaining to such an accident, nor was there an official Japanese probe. (Formosa was under Japan then). Mission Netaji hit fame by reaching the conclusion that Netaji Bose didn't die in any plane crash in Taihoku, even before the commission could infer the same. Mission Netaji tries to prove the conventional crash theories wrong and collect and preserve all important documents that substantiate the existence of Bose even after 1945.

Probes and Results

The Indian government installed three commissions on three different occasions to probe into the alleged death of Netaji in plane crash http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_mystery_of_Netaji_Subhash_Chandra_Bose. The first was the Shah Nawaz commission in 1956, under Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru; the second was the GD Khosla commission from 1970-74 under Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the third was the Manoj Kumar Mukherjee commission http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mukherjee_Commission from 1999-2005 under Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and later Manmohan Singh. The first commission reached the result that Netaji was killed in the airplane crash as said before. But since the commission was not allowed to visit the site of accident, the report lost its fidelity. The second commission also reached the same result, but that also lacked credibility so that Prime Minister Morarji Desai later rejected the findings of both the commissions. But the Mukherjee commission reached the conclusion that there was no plane crash in Taihoku on the said date or nearby dates, and concluded that Bose had plans to escape to the Soviet Russia. The commission also indicated that the ashes, said to be of Bose, kept in the Renkoji temple in Japan are not his. The commission was helped in this regard by author Anuj Dhar, a Mission Netaji associate.

But the Indian government rejected the findings of the Mukherjee commission saying that Bose in fact died in the plane crash. Under the Right to Information act, Mission Netaji appealed for the certified copies of the records based on which the first two commissions corroborated the death of Netaji. The appeal was rejected by the Indian government saying the disclosure of evidences will wreck India's foreign relations, security and strategies. The same was brought before the Central Information Council (CIC) by Mission Netaji and the CIC's directive in this regard was also turned down by the government. Still the matter is pending with the CIC.

Jim the wonder dog was a black and white setter that lived in the United States during the depression. b Mar. 10, 1925 ; d Mar. 18, 1937. He was tested by scientists and scholars, in multiple languages, even morse code. The dog seemed to understand anything that was known by anyone present.He could tell colors even if they were of clothes worn under another piece of apparel. He knew of objects whether hidden or in another place or time. The best scientists of that time were confounded and the truth of his abilities were certified and filmed on a certain occasion although the owner refused all offers of cash to participate in any profitable venture. Jim's grave now draws more visitors every year than any human in the cemetary in Mashall, Missouri. A book was written about Jim by author Clarence Dewey Mitchell , (Paperback - 1983). A documentary movie was made about Jim in the 1970's.

Colin Henshall (1990-2006) was born in Perth, Scotland. He is most known for his attempt to take control of the small village of Kinloch Rannoch, and his impressive football skills. He did this by creating his own army, most notably consisting of Paul Christie, Jane Morton, Tina Wilson and his parrot Spud. He turned all the villagers to slaves and seized control of all property. Eventually his own army turned against him after his tyrannical views got tiresome. Paul Christie tied him to a tree and fed him too hungry hippos. He died on the 22nd July, 2006. That day is now celebrated in Kinloch Rannoch.

Chikkupadhyaya was born (around 1640 A.D) to Sri RangAcharya and Srimathi NAchiyAramma in TerakanAmbi in Mysore district of Karnataka. His actual name at birth was Lakshmipathi.

He later moved to and settled in Melkote in Mandya district. He belonged to the famous powrukuthsa (Shatamarshana) lineage of Hebbar Srivaishnava community.

"Chikkupadhyaya" title was conferred to Sri Lakshmipathi by His Royal Highness Sri Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar since he was his minister and teacher. "ChikkupAdhyAya" in Kannada means teacher of Sri Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar.

He has around 300 literary works to his credit. One of his famous works in Kannada is Divyasooricharithe.

Backtack: The practice of stopping the current stitch, and reversing direction onto itself with the same stitch. This is a method of finishing a stitch, and locking it in so it doesn't come undone. It is used extensively in the Footwear and Apparel industry. An alternative method of stopping the stich is a BOX STITCH. (when the single needle stitch reaches it's end point, it is turned 90deg for about 2mm, then again until it forms a box.)

The Accumulation of Ignorance is a theory that as a series of progressive classes takes place, the "accumulation" of ignorance takes place. This best can be expressed in an example.

In classes that progress each other based on knowledge, for example, High School English 1 – 4, the resultant "acquired knowledge" is equal to the products of the "acquired knowledges" of the individual classes.

Food Science is an applied science that deals with all aspects of food beginning at harvest or slaughter and ending at its consumption. One very important part of food science is the techniques used to turn raw ingredients into food products known as food processing. Food processing can be as simple as peeling a potato or more complex such as dehydrating fruit. Either way, the food is being altered. One critical factor in the success of food processing is the knowledge of water.

Almost any food substance contains water unless specific steps have been taken to remove it. Even a slice of whole grain bread has a water concentration of 38 percent or .4 ounces (DeMan, 1999). Water affects many aspects of food such as texture. The affect that water can have on a food’s texture can easily be seen when comparing fresh and dried fruits and vegetables. Water also affects tenderness, especially in meat products (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). Water has a great influence in the overall quality of a food product, affecting its shelf life. The overall quality of a food can be affected by water loss or water gain in a product. Stale chips are an example of undesirable water gain while if lettuce loses water content, its structure loses its turgor and becomes limp. Almost every food processing technique alters the water found in foods in some manner; freezing is a good example (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). The knowledge of how water acts in relation with food processing will determine the final quality of the food product.

Water, referred to chemically as H2O, is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom held together by covalent bonds. The atoms arrange themselves in a pattern of HOH. The shape that water takes is a tetrahedron with a bond angle of 105 degrees in the liquid state and an angle of 109.6 degrees in solid form (ice) (Vaclacik and Christian,2003). The importance of the expansion of water’s bond angle will be discussed later in this paper.

Water is able to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules containing hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen due to its partial ionic properties. Oxygen possesses a partially negative charge while hydrogen has a partially positive charge. Hydrogen bonds are important because they are able to occur in high numbers and have a significant impact on the properties of the substance in which it is found. Water has the ability to form up to four hydrogen bonds, one for each hydrogen atom and the possibility of two forming from the oxygen (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). When water is frozen, the hydrogen bonds arrange themselves in a three dimensional lattice formation and increase the angle of the bond causing an overall expansion in volume of 9% (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). This expansion is a great example of the importance of understanding water dealing with food processing. For example, this expansion must be accounted for when preparing the packaging for foods to be frozen. This expansion can also cause damage to the structure of some foods such as fruits resulting in a mushy texture in the product (Vaclacik and Christian ,2003).

Ice structure is determined by crystal growth and nucleation. Ice grows in a crystal formation. Crystalline structures can be coarse or fine depending on the rate of cooling. Slow cooling allows for few nuclei to grow to a large size while faster cooling results in more nuclei formation with smaller ice crystals (DeMan, 1999). Crystal growth directly correlates with decreasing temperatures and ice crystal size directly correlates to the number of nuclei as described above. Crystal type will affect food quality for example; fine crystals are desirable to have in ice cream.

It is important for a food scientist to understand the physical properties of water because they play a huge role in food processing. In comparison with other substances, water has unusually high values for certain physical constants, such as melting point, boiling point, heat capacity, latent heat of fusion, latent heat of vaporization and surface tension (DeMan, 1999). This implies that water has the ability to withstand large amounts of heat. Understanding this in relation to the food product the water is contained in may play a role in the way that the food is processed.

It is also important for food scientists to understand the affects that solutes have on water. Solutes such as salts and sugars found in water affect the physical properties of water. The boiling and freezing points of water is affected by solutes. One mole of sucrose (sugar) raises the boiling point of water by 0.52 degrees C, and one mole of salt raises the boiling point by 1.04 degrees while lowering the freezing point of water in a similar way (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). Solutes in water also affect water activity which affects many chemical reactions and the growth of microbes in food (DeMan, 1999). Water activity can be described as a ratio of the vapor pressure of water in a solution to the vapor pressure of pure water (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). Solutes in water lower water activity. This is important to know because most bacterial growth ceases at low levels of water activity (DeMan, 1999). Not only does microbial growth affect the safety of food but also the preservation and shelf life of food.

There are three different types of water found in food. The different types can have a profound impact of food products in relation to food processing. If water can be extracted easily from a food by squeezing or cutting this is known as free water. If the water cannot be removed from the food easily it is known as bound water. The third type of water is known as entrapped water. This type of water is immobilized in capillaries or cells, but flows freely if released by cutting or damage (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). It is important to know the different types of water because they have different characteristics. For example bound water will only freeze at exceptionally low temperatures while free water is not as difficult to freeze (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). They also behave differently as vapors and have different densities. These differences must be accounted for during food processing so that the highest quality of food product can be achieved.

Water hardness is also a critical factor in food processing. It can dramatically affect the quality of a product as well as playing a role in sanitation. Water hardness is classified based on the amounts of removable calcium carbonate salt it contains per gallon. Water hardness is measured in grains; 0.064 gm calcium carbonate is equivalent to one grain of hardness (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). Water is classified as soft if it contains 1 to 4 grains, medium if it contains 5 to 10 grains and hard if it contains 11 to 20 grains (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003). The hardness of water may be altered or treated by using a chemical ion exchange system. The hardness of water also affects its pH balance which plays a critical role in food processing. For example, hard water prevents successful production of clear beverages. Water hardness also affects sanitation; with increasing hardness, there is a loss of effectiveness for its use as a sanitizer (Vaclacik and Christian, 2003).

Water plays a huge role in everyday life. Not only is it essential for life, it also plays a critical role in food and food processing. The chemical make up of water is different in its different states of matter. Environmental factors will affect the quality of water. The physical characteristics, type and quality of water all play a big role in the success of food processing. It is essential for a food scientist or for a person in the field of food science to have an understanding of water as to keep the standards for quality food processing high.

Overview

Big Barry's was an Old West themed restaurant located in Long Island, New York. There were three locations, Lake Grove, on Middle Country Road across from The Good Steer, Rocky Point on Route 25A, and Huntington on Jericho Tpke where Huntington Honda is now. They were open throughout the 1980's and into the 90's. However, in April 1991 a 45-year-old man was arrested and charged with killing three people, including an off-duty police officer and his estranged wife at the Lake Grove location. After the shooting they lost many customers. By the end of the decade the chain was closed.

The Restaurant

The restaurant itself was one of a lot of character. Big Barry's was a theme restaurant before the word was widely used. Before the days The inside looked like an old west saloon (chest high swinging doors and all). Menus were glued to the bottom of a gold mining pan and many meals (mainly hamburgers) were served in skillets. Steaks and Burgers were sold by the ounce (like panning for gold;4,6,8,10 oz.) One night a week they offered a promotion called "The Monday Night Shoot-Out" Before you were seated, someone was given a light gun made to look like a six-shooter and told to aim at a board mounted on the wall with lights around the outside. One light would turn on and then turn off as the next one turned on (they moved around in succession). When you pulled the trigger on the gun, the lights stopped on some kind of prize (a free meal, a special drink glass (shaped like a cowboy boot), etc.). However, after the shooting, quite understandably the Shoot-Out promotion quickly was discontinued.

Tuesday nights became tremendously popular for Wing night. This was long before chicken wings became popular. They sold originally for .10/each.

The Food

It was an Old West themed restaurant, so the food was themed in that way. Hamburgers, steaks, and chicken wings were common favorites. It was a typical family restaurant but one with a lot of flair.

The Logo

The logo of the restaurant featured a cartoonish looking cowboy. He wore a huge cowboy hat that went over his entire body. He had nothing else but a pair of cowboy boots sticking out.

The Owner

The owner (Barry Layne) was very similar to the logo itself. He was a short guy who walked around in cowboy regalia and spoke quite fast. But he could frequently be seen at any of the locations talking to his customers during the restaurnt's heyday days of the late 80's/early 90's. He passed away not too long after the restaurants all closed.

Sccit (born Elior Jeremy Maimon on June 28, 1987) in Woodland Hills, CA (Los Angeles county) is a local hip-hop artist who uniquely represents the 818 (San Fernando Valley). Despite the fact that he has only minor accomplishments in the game, he is still recognized as a top MC by those who have been blessed to hear him rhyme. He's also known as a die-hard Laker fan from birth and has an extensive knowledge in basketball. Sccit played forward for William Howard Taft High School's mens basketball team from 2001-2005. He is also known as Now I Know (or NIK for short), an internet alias he stuck with through the years.

Before the present RB television station was constructed in 1980-1981, the interest in television was already present. With a makeshift studio and secondhand black and white equipment, students were producing class projects, and had initiated a student news show.

At a time when our local communities were negotiating with cable companies, RB administrators challenged the media staff to "push the limits; to investigate the future ways that television could and would be used to improve and impact education, especially in an age of cable-casting into suburban communities."

The Metrovision Cable Company, later purchased by Media One, funded direct playback to Brookfield from RB Studio equipment. Grants from a number of sources, including Jones Intercable and the RB Educational Foundation, have provided additional funds to help with ongoing expenses and upgrades. And, of course, the local communities have been very supportive of our efforts.

Life has been exciting for us at RBTV. The studio has become an unparalleled technical teaching tool at RB. In addition to the many classes which use the facility to tape projects, students in TV classes are learning technical and writing skills while producing shows they know the public will see.

The use of the 5 S’s in an organization is to simplify a system. By having a simple foundation it makes it easier to maintain a quality environment in the workplace. Although implementation of the 5 S’s could be a very difficult process, implementation of my processes is difficult.

• Sort- The first thing to do in a workplace is to sort through a work area and remove anything that isn’t needed to perform that operation. The goal is to reduce the number of items in the work area. The items that are used in the area then need to be organized in appropriate locations according to the frequency of use. Objects used more often are kept closer to the worker where they are handier and objects that are not used as much can be put farther from the operator or in other storage areas.

• Shine- Clean the workplace. This means removing any dirt, dust, or other debris. When done cleaning the area it is then possible to locate the source of contamination and work on eliminating it. While cleaning it would also be a good idea to inspect the equipment used in a work area.

• Set in Order- During this operation look at the processes and movements taken by the worker and map them out. Then look for wasted movements or processes taken by the worker that could be eliminated. Analyze the current map and create a new map moving items around to see if the area can be more efficient.

• Standardize- It is important that everyone in the company is on the same page. Make sure all workers understand where locations of items are, how delivery of items is going to take place and where the items are going to be delivered to, how many items are going to be produced at a single time and when they are due, and the procedures that are going to be taken to produce the items.

• Sustain- Reevaluate the work areas to ensure that the steps above are sustained. Forms can be used to help the evaluation process and to document anything that is not sustained (MacInnes).

The theory of the 5 S’s was created by the Japanese. The name of the 5 S’s comes from five Japanese words: Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke (Saferpak). They used the techniques for not just improving the physical environment of the company but also for improving the everyday thinking process. By practicing the 5 S’s the workplace becomes more organized, efficient and cleaner.

Simon Eastaugh was born 12 June 1973 and during his AFL career as a ruckman was 200 centimetres and 100 kilograms . He was drafted to Richmond Football Club with pick 61 in the 1989 national draft from Shepparton and played 0 games. He was consequntly delisted and moved to Norwood Football Club (South Australia). He was then drafted by Essendon Football Club with pick 68 in the 1997 national draft and played 17 games with the number 36 guernsey, but was delisted. Fremantle Football Club subsequently drafted him with pick 4 in the 2001 pre-season draft where he played 12 games with the number 31 guernsey, but was again delisted.

Heather Farms Park is a large park located in Walnut Creek, Ca. It originally was a race track, but over the years it was expanded. One of the nicest parks in Walnut Creek, it includes several Tennis Courts, a skatepark, basketball courts, a volleyball sand court, a swimming center, soccer fields, baseball fields, and two large lakes. It is home to a community center, the neighborhood swimming center, and a preschool.

Another part of the park that is radically different from the rest is the gardens, which is a large sloping area consisting of flowers, plants, and benches. Walking distance from several houeses and apartment complexes in the area, it is truely more than your everyday park.

General Biology

The greater prairie chicken stands about 18 inches tall and has a wingspan of about 28 inches. Prairie chickens diets mainly consist of leaves, seeds, berries, and some acorns. During the summer they rely mainly on insects. They prefer undisturbed prairie and were originally found in tall-grass prairies. They can tolerate agricultural land mixed with prairie, but the more agricultural land the less prairie chicken. These birds were once wide spread all across the oak savanna and tall grass prairie ecosystem. The prairie chicken was almost extinct in the 1930’s. I now only lives on small parcels of managed prairie land. It is though that their current population is about 459,000

Sexual Behavior

The greater prairie chicken is a medium-sized grouse that was once found all throughout the middle United States. Greater prairie chickens are territorial birds. They often defend their territory, which is related to their mating success. Male greater prairie chickens do not usually venture far from their booming grounds, and they are typically solitary until the breeding season. Their booming grounds are the area in which they perform their displays in hopes of attracting a female. Their displays consist of inflating air sacs located on the side of their neck and also snapping their tails. These booming ground usually have very short or no vegetation. The male prairie chickens will stay on this ground displaying for almost two months.

The breeding season usually begins in the United States in April or Early May. During this time the males establish booming sites where they will be displaying for the females. After mating has taken place, the females will move about one mile from the booming grounds and begin to build their nests. The average female will have between five and seventeen eggs with an average near twelve (Illinois Natural Resources Information Network (INRIN, 2005). The incubation of these eggs is done by the female and usually lasts about 21 to 24 days. There are between five and 9.3 young per brood. (INRIN, 2005). The young, are raised by the female and fledge in one to four weeks, are completely independent by the tenth to twelfth week and reach sexual maturity by age one (Ammann, 1957). One problem facing prairie chickens is the ring-neck pheasants. Pheasants will lay their eggs in prairie chicken nest. The pheasant eggs hatch first; this causes the prairie chickens to leave the nest thinking that the young have hatched. In reality the eggs did not hatch and the young usually die because the mother is not there to incubate the eggs.
