IBIS-2 is the version 2 of the land-surface model Integrated Biosphere Simulator (IBIS), which includes several major improvements and additions to the prototype model developed by Foley et al. [1996]. IBIS was designed to explicitly link land surface and hydrological processes, terrestrial biogeochemical cycles, and vegetation dynamics within a single physically consistent framework [Kucharik et al. 2000]. The model considers transient changes in vegetation composition and structure in response to environmental change and is, therefore, classified as a Dynamic Global Vegetation Model (DGVM) [Steffeen et al. 1992; Walker, 1994; W. Cramer et al., Dynamic responses of global terrestrial vegetation changes in CO2 and climate, submitted to Global Change Biology, 1999]. This new version of IBIS has improved representations of land surface physics, plant physiology, canopy phenology, plant functional type (PFT) differences, and carbon allocation. Furthermore, IBIS-2 includes a new belowground biogeochemistry submodel, which is coupled to detritus production (litterfall and fine root turnover). All process are organized in a hierarchical framework and operate at different time steps, ranging from 60 min to 1 year. Such an approach allows for explicit coupling among ecological, biophysical, and physiological processes occurring on different timescales.

=IBIS Structure=

The land surface module is based on the land surface transfer model (LSX) package of Thompson and Pollard [1995a,b], and simulates the energy, water, carbon, and momentum balance of the soil-vegetation-atmosphere system. The model represents two vegetation canopies (e.g., trees versus shrubs and grasses), eight soil layers, and three layers of snow (when required). The solar radiative transfer scheme of IBIS-2 has been simplified in comparison with LSX and IBIS-1; sunlit and shaded fractions of the canopies are no longer treated separately. The model now follows the approach of Sellers et al. [1986] and Bonan [1995]. Infrared radiation is simulated as if each vegetation layer is a semitransparent plane; canopy emissivity depends on foliage density. Other difference between IBIS-2 and IBIS-1 and LSX, is that IBIS-2 uses an empirical linear function of wind speed to estimate turbulent transfer between the soil surface and the lower vegetation canopy, and IBIS-1 and LSX use a logarithmic wind profile. The total evapotranspiration from the land surface is treated as the sum of three water vapor fluxes: avaporation from the soil surface, evaporation of water intercepted by vegetation canopies, and canopy transpiration. IBIS simulates the variations of heat and moisture in the soil. The eight layers are described in terms of soil temperature, volumetric water content and ice content [Pollard and Thompson, 1995; Foley et al. 1996]. All the process occurring in the soil are influenced by the soil texture and amount of organic matter within the soil. One difference from the physiological processes in previous version of the model is that IBIS-1 calculates the maximum Rubisco carboxylation capacity (Vm) by optimizing the net assimilation of carbon by the leaf [Haxeltine and Prentice, 1996]. IBIS-2 prescribes constant values of Vm for the plant functional typed (PFT). To scale photosynthesis and transpiration from the leaf level to canopy level, IBIS-2 assumes that the net photosynthesis within the canopy is proportional to the APAR within it.

=Soil Biogeochemistry=

In the original version of IBIS [Foley et al. 1996] there was no explicit belowground biogeochemistry model to complete flow of carbon between the vegetation, detritus, and soil organic matter pools. IBIS-2 includes a new soil biogeochemistry module [Kucharik et al., submitted manuscript, 1999].

The model SIB-2 built by Sellers et al. (1996b) it is improvement of the model Sib-1, whose model innovation is the use satellite images in global ambit, to obtain the vegetation phenology. Starting from these data of NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) 1° by 1°, obtained through the satellite AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer), some simple corrections were applied, resulting in a product called FASIR-NDVI. This product is combined with the soil covering classification to obtain the global monthly fields, time-varying, of fraction of photosynthetically active radiation absorbed by the green canopy (FPAR). With the obtaining of FPAR can be calculated LT (total leaf area index) and N (canopy greenness fraction). These two fields (LT and N) are used to calculate the surface reflectances or albedo (aΛμ) and the roughness lengths (z0). FPAR is still directly used to calculate canopy photosynthesis (Ac) and conductance (gc). Some adjusted are applied in the data FASIR-NDVI, to that can be used in the calculation of the dependent parameters of these data: (I) Fourier wave adjustment; (II) Solar zenith angle adjustment; (III) Interpolation of missing data and (IV) Reconstruction of NDVI data classified as tropical evergreen broadleaf. In the SIB-2, there is not available a group of extensive spatial data for validation of the data derived by that methodology. The most important in this model, it has become possible to address realistically the spatial and temporal variability of land-surface parameters within a climate model.

Auburndale Heat: A premier soccer team, undervalued and depreciated by many of the more idolized teams. Over the past couple seasons thier lack of physical play and effortless encounters has led to their continual defeat. Recently they matched up against the top teams in the Nation and faired extremely well, soaring above the greater expectations of the many of the reputable college scouts. The Jamshaid series consists of Inspector Jamshaid, his children, brothers Mahmoood and Farooq as well as their sister Farzana. His wife, Baigum (Mrs.) Jamshaid is a housewife, who lives next door to Aunt Shehnaz. Inspector Jamshaid is assisted in his official duties by Sub-Inspector Ikram. Jamshaid also relies heavily upon his friends, the wealthy Khan Rehman as well as the scientist Professor Dawood.

Inspector Jamshaid is an employee of the Department of Investigations. He is a man of many talents. He was trained to handle weapons of all kinds. He has a special relationship with his superiors, as well as access to the Presidency. Through his hard work, he was awarded the decree of "Special Permissions" (Khasoosi Ijazatnama), which allowed him to take over any investigation he deemed necessary. As they got older, the same decree was later awarded to the children as well.

Mahmood is the eldest. He is shy and quite. His catchphrase was "Dhat Tayray Ki (Would you look at that or the rather fitting Well I'll be damned)!"

Farooq is the middle child, and the funny man of the family. He is most certainly a wise guy, and his catch phrase is "Yay to kisi novel ka naam hosakta hay (This could be the name of a novel)."

Farzana is the youngest, and brightest. She hates Algebra and her catchphrase is "Jalti hay mayri jooti (no translation available)."

WLTN FM is an American radio station in New Hampshire licensed to Littleton. On air it is known as Life's Greatest Hits, Mix 96.7. It is licensed for 6 kw. Its transmitter is located in Lisbon, New Hampshire. WLTN FM is locally-owned and run by Barry P. Lunderville and sister station to WXXS (FM), WLTN (AM), and WMOU (AM).

The Evolution Index (EV) compares the growth of an item such as the sales of a product with the growth of the market and multiplies by 100. An item whose Evolution Index is below 100 can be said to be growing at a slower rate than the market, while an item whose Evolution Index is greater than 100 can be said to be growing faster than the market.

After reading history at St. Anne's College, Oxford, she worked in publishing and on Woman magazine, until she was taken up by Billy Collins as one of his most promising young novelists. Thirumoorthy Temple is situated at the foot of the Thirumoorthy Hills adjoining the Thirumoorthy Dam. The scenic beauty of the Anamalai Hill range of Western Ghats, includes the cascading water to the Thirumoorthy reservoir from the Panchalingam Falls. A perennial stream flows by the side of the Sri Amalingeswarar temple. The presiding deity is called ammlingeshwara.

=History=

It is believed that a few thousand years ago Athari Maharishi along with his wife Anushiya devi lived here. Moved by their prayer, Lord Shiva together with Brammah and Vishnu (Thiru Moorthigal) came in disguise to test their devotion. Overwhelmed by their appearance the couple offered them tribute. The Thiru Moorthigal refused to accept their offerings as such and demanded that the offering should be made by Anushiya devi in nudity. She accepted their demand and with her power of devotion she changed the Thiru Moorthi's into 3 years old babies and fed them. On seeing the power of devoting Anushiya devi, the Thiru Moorthi's blessed the couple and hence the place is known as Thiru Moorthi hills. It is an old temple with beautiful setting and some rare sculptures with a spacious front hall.

=Climate=

Temperature varies from moderate to quite cool. The best times for travelling there are from September to December.

During the summer it is between 25 and 30°C and
During the winter it is between 20 and 25°C.
The average rainfall is 1550 mm[1].

=Entertainment=

Thirumoorthy hill is the major cini shooting spot in the Coimbatore District where most of the Malayalam and Tamil Movies are taken here due to the pleasant climate and the elegant view of the nature.

There is also a swimming pool and a well laid out garden and boating facilities in the dam.

=How To There=

This is about 20 km from Udumalaipettai on the Highway from Palani to Coimbatore.Local buses fly from Udumalpet to this place.

Air :

Coimbatore has an airport. Flights connect it to Chennai and other important cities.

Rail :

Coimbatore is connected by rail to Chennai, Trivandrum, Delhi and other cities.

Road :

It is also connected to all the important cities and places of interest by road.

David MARTIN (September 7 1639- September 9 1721) a learned French Protestant divine, was born at Revel, in the diocese of Lavaur, in 1639, and educated at Montauban, and at the academy of the reformed at Nismes. He afterwards studied divinity at Puy-Laurent, whither the academy of Montauban had been removed. Having been admitted to the ministry in 1663, he settled as pastor with the church of Esperance, in the diocese of Castres. In 1670 he accepted an invitation to the church of La Caune, in the same diocese, where he officiated till the revocation of the edict of Nantes, in 1685. In 1686, the magistrates of Deventer invited him to become professor of divinity, Pand pastor of the Walloon church in that city; but the regency of Utrecht, where he had taken up his residence, fully apprised of his merit, prevailed upon him to accept the office of pastor in their city.

He had studied his native language grammatically; and when the French Academy was about to publish the second edition of their Dictionary, he sent them remarks and observations, of which they availed themselves, with polite acknowledgments to the author. He died of a violent fever in 1721, after he had completed his eighty-second year.

He published

an edition of the New Testament, according to the Geneva version, with corrections, notes, new prefaces to each book, etc., printed at Utrecht in 1696, 4to;

a History of the Old and New Testament, at Amsterdam, in 1707, in two volumes, folio, embellished with upwards of 420 beautiful engravings, which is commonly called Mortier's Bible, after the name of the printer;

an edition of The Holy Bible, with corrections, notes, and prefaces, at Amsterdam, 1702, in 2 vols, fol., which was afterwards reprinted in 1712, in 4to, with parallel passages, and short notes in the margin;

The Excellence of Faith, and its Effects, explained in twenty Sermons on the eleventh Chapter of the Epistle to the Hebrews; A Treatise on Natural Religion;

The true Sense of 110th Psalm, opposed to that of John Masson;

and Two Critical Dissertations: one on the three heavenly witnesses, in the 7th verse of the fifth chapter of St. John's first Epistle;

and the other on a passage in Josephus, in which our Lord is mentioned, maintaining its authenticity.

By the former of these dissertations he involved himself in controversies with our countryman, Mr Emlyn and father Le Long of the Oratory, which gave rise to a variety of publications by the respective combatants, in which they went over the same ground that has been since traversed by Travis, Porson, and Marah.

The last production of M. Martin was, A Treatise on revealed Religion, in 2 vols, 8vo; this has been translated into English.

The Villa Boscoreale, house of P. Fannius Synistor, is located in the town of Boscoreale about 2 kilometers outside Pompeii in southern Italy. Evidence in tablets and graffiti shows that the house was probably built in the first century B.C.E. The villa had been burned in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79. Prior, this area was once a former hunting reserve and also used agriculturally, specializing in wine and olive oil.

However, the Villa is most notable for its aesthetical contributions. Villa Boscoreale was dug up around1900 and produced upon excavation many frescos and paintings, delineating nuances of luxurious Roman lifestyle. For example, the Metropolitan Museum of Art houses many paintings excavated that hung on the walls of bedrooms (cubiculum diurnum). These paintings themselves depict further rooms, columns, landscape, and garden scenes, all emphasizing expansion and grandeur. This technique is very common in Second Style and was quite popular during this time. This is all done using the illusory trompe l’oeil method, probably employed by its owner to boast of his personal splendor and wealth.

Much of the work found in the various rooms has a Hellenistic or Classical appearance. For instance, paintings found in the living room seem depictions of either philosophers, such as Epicurus, Zeno or Menedemos, or possibly old kings, like King Kinyras of Cypru . Similarly, the bedrooms described in Second Style also evoke Hellenistic qualities, such as are seen at the Tomb of Lyson or at Kallikles. At a time when the Roman Republic was ending and classicism somewhat fading, this seems an interesting comment on style and taste. Seemingly, Greek representations in the home were considered acceptable, evening admired and sophisticated. These Romans would take these traditional Greek styles and make them Roman by adding greater splendor, looking to impress those who beheld the ornate walls and expanding bedroom depictions.

Ownership of the household has also been questioned. While there is no doubt P. Fannius Synistor did reside there, excavated bronze tablets show another name, that of Lucius Herrenius Florus. Many things were marked with seals in ancient Rome to indicate possession. It is believed that since the tablet was found inside the villa, it must serve as a mark of ownership. These two owners are the only confirmed owners in the early first century BC and first century AD. However, there may have been a first owner before them even. For clarity, the house is referred to being owned by P. Fannius Synistor.

'Dmitri Shoukov' (Samara, Rusland, 26 September 1975) was a Russian footballer. His position on the field was right wing-forward.

Shoukov began his career in 1993 at CSKA Moscow. In 1995 he made change to go play in the Netherlands for Vitesse. After one season he went to play for NAC Breda then he moved to Willem II in 1999. On 20 January 2007 2004 he came to play for FC Twente. He was one of there best players.

Despite the fact that Shoukov was born and raised in Russia, he has for years only had Dutch nationality. In an interview with the TC Tubantia Shoukov declared that he is possibly wanted by FC Twente as a scout.

The Beverton-Holt model is a classic discrete-time population model which gives the expected number (or density) of individuals $a_{t+1}$ in generation $t+1$ as a function of the number of individuals in the previous generation,

$a_{t+1} = k_1 \frac{a_t}{1+k_2 a_t}.$

Here $r$ is interpreted as the intrinsic growth rate and $k_1/k_2$ as the carrying capacity of the environment. The Beverton-Holt model was introduced in the context of the fisheries by Beverton & Holt (1957). Subsequent work has derived the model under other assumptions such as contest competition (Brännström & Sumpter 2005) or within-year resource limited competition (Geritz and Kisdi 2004). The Beverton-Holt model can be generalized to include scramble competition (see the Hassell model and the Maynard-Smith Slatkin model). It is also possible to include a parameter reflecting the spatial clustering of individuals (see Brännström & Sumpter 2005).

Daltons intersts included hiking in Cumbria and archeology. Dalton was a well respected member of his community and has few surviving relatives. Pau-de-arara, or Parrot's Perch in a literal English translation from Portuguese, is a designation given in the Brazilian Northeast to a flat bed truck adapted for passenger transportation. The truck's bed is equipped with narrow wooden benches and a canvas canopy. The term refers to long metal rails extending lengthwise under the canopy where passengers would hang on to when standing.

This form of public transportation is still found in rural areas, but no longer available for interstate travel. In past decades, it was widely used by migrants fleeing periodic drought conditions in their home region. In the states of [São Paulo] e [Rio de Janeiro], their most frequent destination, Pau-de-arara also became a derogatory slang term referring to them. There are frequent references to the Pau-de-arara in Brazilian literature and popular song, used as a symbol for the plight of the Nordestino (Northeastern) migrant.

The Dryton and Apollonia archive consists of fragments of 40 documents written in both Greek and Demotic from 150-99 BCE although some of the events referenced took place as far back as 176 or 175 BCE. Dryton was a cavalry officer in Ptolemais, a Greek city in Upper Egypt. The archive which contains 3 of the 4 of his wills as well as other legal documentation undertaken by his family as a whole. It shows he was married to Sarapias to whom he had a son, Esthladas. They divorced and Dryton took his son with him in his transfer to Pathyris around 152 BCE. It was here he met his second wife Apollonia also know by her Egyptian name of Senmonthis who most likely was a teen to his almost fifty years of age. Greeks in Ptolemaic Egypt only associated with other Greeks and did not interact with the natives; however Dryton appears to have developed a more Egyptian lifestyle towards the end of his life with his marriage to Apollonia. Esthladas seems to have followed in his father’s footsteps and earned a living as a professional soldier and through private land owning. He appears to have adapted to a more Egyptian way of life and was also both fluent and literate in Egyptian language of Demotic and Greek as many of the later documents pertain to him specifically. He inherited the majority of land and assets following his father’s death, but he shared some of this land with his stepmother and stepsisters.Lewis, N: “Greeks in Ptolemaic Egypt”, pp 88-103. Oxford University Press, 1986 This archive also shows the relationships between mother and the five daughters (Apollonia/Senmouthis, Aristo/Semonthis, Aphrodisia/Takhratis, Nikarion/Thermouthis, Apollonia the Younger/Senpelaia) as a way to glimpse gender roles of both Greek and Egyptian families. In his will, Dryton left Apollonia with any land she owned or came into possession with while they were married. She was also involved in lending money which is seen in a number of documents that record her financial transactions. Her five daughters were all kept and raised which follows the Egyptian custom of no infanticide regardless of money or gender. In Dryton’s last will he arranged for the five of them to share a portion of his estate. He also provided dowry arrangements for Aristo and Aphrodisia. At this time his first daughter, Apollonia, appears to have been married, so she did not receive an additional sum of money. Nikarion and Apollonia the Younger were mere children and an amount of money was to be given them until they turned 17 or 18 years old. At that time it was common in Egypt for women to marry. The origin of the term "12th man" has many legends associated with it, but the first recorded instance of the term being used was to describe E. King Gill and his actions in Dallas on January 2, 1922, at the Dixie Classic (the forerunner of the Cotton Bowl). Texas A&M played defending national champion Centre College in the first post-season game in the southwest. In this hard fought game, which produced national publicity, an underdog Aggie team was slowly but surely defeating a team which boasted having three All-Americans. Unfortunately, the first half produced so many injuries for A&M that Coach D. X. Bible feared he wouldn’t have enough men to finish the game. At that moment, he called into the Aggie section of the stands for E. King Gill, a reserve who had left football after the regular season to play basketball. Gill, who was spotting players and was not in football uniform, willingly volunteered and donned the uniform of injured player Heine Weir. When the game ended with an A&M victory, 22-14, E. King Gill was the only man left standing on the sidelines for the Aggies. Gill later said, "I wish I could say that I went in and ran for the winning touchdown, but I did not. I simply stood by in case my team needed me." Although he did not actually play in the game, his readiness to play was noted. Since there were 11 men on the field, E. King Gill was the 12th Man, hence the term.

Drostanolone Propionate, better known as Masteron has been used in bodybuilding for decades. In the early 80s, Masteron was one of the most popular and sought after anabolic steroids. Once it was pulled from the market, it's popularity sky rocketed. For almost two decades, Drostanolone Propionate could not be found.

Masteron is a derivative of [Dihydrotestosterone](DHT). Masteron is clinically treating certain forms of breast cancer, at which it is reasonably effective. It has, however, been largely replaced by third generation [Aromatase] Inhibitors such as [Arimidex] and [Aromasin]. However, in at least one study, Masteron & [Tamoxifen citrate] outperformed than [Chemotherapy] with regards to producing immediate objective responses from patients.

Drostanolone is one of the less dangerous anabolic steroids. A steroid user will not see the common side effects, [Gynecomastia], water retention, or high blood pressure. Side effects that are possible, include but are not limited to oily skin, unwanted body hair, aggressive behavior, and possible hair loss.

Emily Rose Everhard is the young side kick of the teenagers in the hit CBS kids educational show "Cake". Her credits include the upcoming (summer 2007) Bratz:The Movie where she plays Cherish, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Mad TV, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Emily is also one of the newest "Sparkids" dancers for the WNBA LA Sparks.

The Lone Soldier (A.K.A Robert Weller)

The Lone Soldier is a parody of a comedic event that occured on May 23, 2006, at 2:00 PM in Central Pacific time. There was an outdoor picnic for the Lewisville Learning Center in Lewisville, TX, 75067. It was the second to the last day of school and there were activities planned for the day. The last activity was the notorious Water Baloon Fight. The rules were the following:

1-Do not go outside the boundary line

2-Do not throw baloons at people that are not participating

= Then it happened... =

The teacher blew a whistle to designate that the fight has began, and students rushed into the middle to obtain a water baloon. The "Lone Soldier" or Robert Weller, picked up one baloon from the pile and was preparing to throw. Every other person was standing at the outer boundary line. Being the one target for the most part, Robert had several baloons thrown at him as he yelled numerous obscenitites such as:

"Lemme get some f***ing ammo!" "Lemme get some ammo you mother f***ing a**holes!"

= What happened after =

The student surrendered and retreated to the nearby picnic tables and threw a tantrum, with his head in his tucked arms. The following segment will show you what was said and recorded with a Blackberry® by Mr.Jesse Longoria but then later destroyed:

-Ms. Audrey Bryant-

"Come on Robert, go ahead and talk some more so we can show this to Mr.Dorsey(School Principal)"

-Robert Weller-

"F*** you you mother f***ing a**holes!"

= The Aftermath =

The event has been reminisced several times and has not been forgotten in and out of the LLC campus. The Lone Soldier continues to suffer emotional and physical bullying and is currently being supported through the SAC program in the Lewisville Learning Center.

= Parodies =

There is one picture of a parody made in Flash Proffesional 8 depicting the lyrics to a song called "The Lone Soldier" and a commemerative background with a stick figure as The Lone Soldier holding a baloon. The term "SAC" represents "Social Adjustment Class". It is designed to reiterate children and teens and to prepare them for the "real world". The program is supportive to children with E.D.(emotionally disturbed), Tourettes, Deppresion, and many other mental disorders. Here is a quote from the official LLC webpage::

Mission Statement

Lewisville Learning Center is committed to providing an environment where students are empowered to take ownership in attaining their educational goals and are encouraged to become positive members of their communities.

Special Education Division: (SAC-Social Adjustment Class)

This division has the “most restrictive” placement in the district for secondary Special education students. SAC is a nurturing, self-contained program designed to assist students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills necessary to succeed in school and the workplace. All students are taught specifically to their IEP (Individual Education Plan), and in coordination with their BIP (Behavior Intervention Plan), as outlined when admitted. The Boys’Town Behavior Model is used by all the staff and has proven to be a very effective teaching model for young people with severe challenges. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) is provided to all the staff in this division and has proven very successful in creating a positive and social environment that causes students to become successful. A (4:1) student-teacher ratio allows extensive teacher intervention and successful results.

Admission: Students from all the schools are placed here by ARD Committee decisions only. Review and recommendation of district psychologist is recommended.

=SAC Levels =

The system works by an integrated level system. Each student must complete 15 succesful days within each level, starting at Level 2 (when they are first transferred) up until level 4, when they are recommended to return to their home campuses.

Level 1-

No privelages. Just work and do nothing. Mosly a punishment level.

Level 2-

Default level. All students newly coming or returning to SAC will start on this level. Very basic and simple.

Level 3-

Extra privelages are obtained through this level (adjacent to good behaviour), such as being able to peer tutor elementary, buy ice cream, etc. There is less restriction on this level.

Level 4-

The optimal, ideal level to be on. Basically you are able to do anything as long as you have teacher permission.

Whether a day is succesfull or not is determined by whether or not you have too many demerits, or "charts", on your point sheet.

Chezkoslovakian Water

Introduction

Chezkoslovakian water is water that has been taken from the great nation of Chezkoslovakia. It is in many ways, such as taste, colour and consistency, like normal water and many people believe it to be so.

Medicinal purposes

A study has shown that Chezkoslovakian water has in many cases shown promising results to show that Chezkoslovakian has some properties not found in conventional water. Chezkoslovakian has been found to have many viagra like properties but unlike viagra Chezkoslovakian water has no side affects, is completely safe and the effect of elongating male genitalia has been found to be permanent. The effect have been found to elongate male genitalia by up to 4 inches according to a study by Dr A. Lawton (DSc) and Prof. L. Frobisher (BSc).

Avaliability

It has been found that only very few sources of Chezkoslovakian have these properties and this water is not readily avaliable on the market. This "drug" is still in clinical trial and although no side affects have been found as of yet the product still has to undergo testing in accordance with the British government.
