- Keep but rewrite. Nom is absolutely right - current article is nothing but a DICDEF. But I think this could be expanded with better examples (military, marathon, cycling, music festivals, etc.) and better sources. [http://books.google.com.au/books?id=ju_U9e7j4_EC&dq This book], for example, details their function and history with regard to the Chicago Marathon in particular. So my argument is more for keeping the title rather than this "article". WP:TNT is relevant, I think. Stalwart111 22:23, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- Keep Seems an important aspect of endurance races. I'd say it's a little more than a dicdef at this point, but it just needs expansion. I'll apply a stub tag. --BDD (talk) 22:55, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
::Maybe "nothing but" was a bit harsh. Ha ha. Maybe "not much more than..."? Anyway, stub tag was a good idea. Stalwart111 00:02, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- {{question}} Can we find sources to assert its notability? If not it should be deleted per WP:NOTE. nerdfighter 00:21, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
::I think there are about 30 hits in the book I linked to and many discuss history, importance, awards for "best aid station", etc. and that's just for the Chicago Marathon. I'm certainly happy to do some more digging for a wider range of sources. I just think this article defines the idea too narrowly; limiting it to marathons only when a quick search suggests military aid stations (in the field) are actually the more extensively covered version of the concept but are not mentioned at all. - Comment - per my comments above, I have had a crack at adding to the article. There's still more to go but I've expanded on what was there, included other examples and provided some references. Stalwart111 03:30, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- Keep, although the article needs a significant amount of work, AfD is not a substitute for article improvements. The subject has received significant coverage in [https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Aid+Station%22&aq=f&oq=%22Aid+Station%22&aqs=chrome.0.57j65l3j0l2.7509j0&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=%22Aid+Station%22&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=bks&sa=X&ei=aAZ3UdTpIofsiQKC74GgBA&ved=0CA8Q_AUoAg&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45580626,d.cGE&fp=e56cdf4a98475528&biw=966&bih=835 multiple] reliable sources. Therefore the subject meets WP:GNG and deletion is not advised. Now unless there is a good WP:TNT argument, I will mozy on.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 22:22, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
