Fails WP:BIO. All but one of the sources are simply directory listings, which falls under trivial coverage (and not all of those are WP:RS. The one actual news article is the sort of piece you would expect from his home town newspaper on a "local celebrity" who isn't really. Does not meet the requirements for notable living person. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

- Comment as the editor who removed the Speedy Deletion tag because it was inappropriate, I deeply object to the comments offered above.[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Alex_Perelson&oldid=224482460] Even if the first sentence above was phrased in a civil manner it would be irrelevant to the AfD discussion. Please review the editor's additional comments carefully and examine the article and its sources yourself before opining. Thanks. - House of Scandal (talk) 01:32, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Very weak keep based on sources and awards, and really, Collectonian, those edit summaries were unnecessary (especially since you vented on the user's talk page as well). --Dhartung | Talk 01:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
:*He vented on mine as well, including leaving me 3RR warnings and then running around attacking in on multiple talk pages. I called it what it was, retaliation. But I have removed the remark above, though civil, it is indeed irrelevant here.-- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
::*PLEASE refrain from including your antagonistic perception of irrelevant events in AfD discussions. I'm really perplexed as to why an editor with your experience is engaging in such conduct. - House of Scandal (talk) 01:50, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to encourage everyone to keep it civil and remember to WP:AGF. Remember also that speedy deletion tags say on them that they can be removed by people who aren't the original author. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Db-bio]. Anyway, to the issue at hand. I think there's Keep from me, although I'll confess to not being an expert in extreme sports. From what I can tell the AST Dew Tour is a big deal. I also went ahead and added an article from the Washington Post [http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/23/AR2007062301309.html] which discusses him briefly. Vickser (talk) 01:53, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
:*Good to know on the AST Dew Tour. Not too familiar with extreme sports or skateboarding either, so wasn't sure if it fell under the "competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport" clause. For the rest, I tried AGF for the first hour of this mess (which dealt with a whole different article). -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 02:14, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Week keep for barely meeting the WP:BIO guidelines, as he's "competed in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport".--t b c ♣§♠ (aka Tree Biting Conspiracy) 01:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Keep per above comments. I also hasten to chastise the nominator for ungentlemanly comments here and elsewhere! Always assume good faith (especially with editors who are established members of the community). - Raj Krishnamurthy (talk) 02:11, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
::I did AGF at first, but I tend to lose AGF when an editor chooses to do this kind of thing. We had a dispute over "his" article and he decided to come counter other stuff I do? Hard to AGF when he had nothing to do with this article at all, and not being an admin it is unlikely he was CSD patrolling. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 02:14, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
:::It's difficult not to respond to these accusations. Firstly, I never refered to any article as mine as the quotation marks around "his" seem to indicate. Secondly, I did indeed check Collectonian's contributions today based upon that editor being in uncivil conflict with multiple other editors over unrelated issues at once (see [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Collectonian&oldid=224470599] and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Editor_assistance/Requests] etc.) Discovering an inappropriate Speedy Delete tag I removed it and improved the article. Collectonian's choice to characterize that as "a childish and petty attempt at retaliation" [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alex_Perelson&action=history] and as "wikistalking" [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alex_Perelson&action=history] is a surprising one. - House of Scandal (talk) 02:25, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Strong Keep (I have already commented, but not formally opined). The article has been beefed up considerably in the past day. My original concern was merely that this article was clearly ineligable for a speedy delete. I've since grown confident it should pass this AfD. - House of Scandal (talk) 18:59, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Keep seems like a lot of sources for me. --Liface (talk) 17:24, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Keep. Article meets WP:BIO. Three newspapers, the Washington Post, The San Diego Union-Tribune, and the North County Times cite major points. --Rosiestep (talk) 18:22, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Delete* Alex Perelson is an up-and-comer, but he hasn't done anything notable enough yet to deserve a biography. Shreditor (talk) 18:45, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
