m:OTRS ticket:2009062810003088: the subject has requested deletion, identity confirmed. Barely notable per Wikipedia's current messageboard-like standards. -- Jeandré (talk), 2009-06-29t15:44z 15:44, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

- Keep, obviously notable, not borderline at all, thus there is no obligation to conform to subject's request. Gnews hits: 185 for "Allen C. Guelzo", another 155 for "Allen Guelzo". Member of National Council of the Humanities (presidential appointment); books have won multiple awards. Easily passes WP:PROF, not a close call at all. - Keep per Nomoskedasticity. Not borderline. Named chair. 400+ gbooks hits. Many of his books reviewed, so WP:AUTHOR applies also. Only problematic part of earlier versions was too much about his family history. Everything else looks like easily sourceable, dry facts.John Z (talk) 20:25, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

- Keep. I agree with Nomoskedasticity and John Z. Meets WP:PROF criterion #5 (named chair or distinguished professor appointment). Also meets WP:PROF criterion #1 (significant impact in scholarly discipline, broadly construed), and possibly other criteria as well. Has at least three books, on Pres. Lincoln, in more than 1,000 major libraries worldwide according to WorldCat.--Eric Yurken (talk) 00:40, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Keep, seems to be notable and you don't get to choose whether you have an article or not. Stifle (talk) 11:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
