This is a trainwreck of an article. It has been appropriately tagged as being written like an essay, lacking notability, and possible original research. This simply is not an encyclopedia article at all, and the references are pretty threadbare. It was nominated for deletion twelve years ago, but comments about biting the newbies and allowing it time to be developed led to a "no consensus" result. Well, it's been twelve years and the article still has all of the same problems, so I don't think waiting is the correct strategy at this point. - Delete: I would normally advocate for cleaning up the article itself, but the entire article needs to be rewritten. It consists entirely of WP: OR. Because of this, WP: TNT applies here. HyperAccelerated (talk) 22:49, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete Concur with the nom and others. If there's any reliable, sourced information worth saving it could easily be added to the Mexican-American War article (which is likely where this belongs in any case).Intothatdarkness 12:33, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
CommentDelete My first impression is that it is possible to write a good article on this notable subject. Now to read with care... Darkfrog24 (talk) 18:58, 19 July 2024 (UTC) But this article doesn't seem to address its own subject. It says a few things about the Mexican-American War's proponents and opponents in the United States but doesn't talk about the war's propaganda. Delete without prejudice. Though I'd also support Draftify if there is anyone who volunteers to work on it until it's presentable. Otherwise, blow it up and leave room for anyone who wants to start over.
