He appears to have been an every day normal solder, nothing really special about him. The only source cited is a list of members of his regiment and I could find no others more in depth. I am not sure how well the fact "he is the ancestor of all people bearing the name Marleau in Quebec" counts for notability but I would think not much. - Icewedge (talk) 20:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Delete Other than failing WP:V, he also does not seem notable. Just having lived a long time ago does not qualify as notable. Being "first Merlot in Canada" also does not impress me much. Gunnar Hendrich (talk) 21:32, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
