- Strong keep - On top of the sources already in the article, death threats Dean received in 2015 which resulted in her fleeing Pakistan were very widely covered, see for instance [https://www.dawn.com/news/1181357 here in Dawn]. Smmurphy(Talk) 23:52, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep. Ongoing major newspaper coverage over many years indicates notability. And her expulsion from Pakistan by religious extremists appears to have become something of a cause célèbre; see e.g. [https://www.thenews.com.pk/print/109146-To-remove-hate-material-from-curriculum-us-vs-them-philosophy-needs-to-go this mention of her in newspaper coverage of an unrelated conference in 2016] or [https://books.google.com/books?id=99uACwAAQBAJ this 2018 Brookings Institute book]. —David Eppstein (talk) 01:42, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep Meets GNG. There are multiple documents which state that she was the primary reviewer and textbook author on a revision to the national curriculum to remove hate speech and add gender diversity. Controversy erupted over her changes, which attempted to secularize the primary school textbooks and she was forced to leave the country.[http://tn.thenews.com.pk/print/101197-Educators-must-be-protectedhate-material-removed-from-curricula], [https://issuu.com/pakobserver.net/docs/ep28mar2015 IJT organizes APC over proposed changes in curriculum], [http://www.criterion-quarterly.com/pakistani-constitution-islam-and-minorities/], [https://tribune.com.pk/story/649553/christmas-eve-christians-hope-for-better-times/], [https://www.dawn.com/news/1181357] SusunW (talk) 15:04, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep Passes WP:GNG. Andrew D. (talk) 06:48, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep -- notable for other reasons vs being an academic. The on-going coverage is significant, meeting WP:GNG. K.e.coffman (talk) 04:02, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
