Non-notable soldier. He is not even known for "firing the first shots of WWII", as the article says {{tq|it was once thought that these were the first shots fired by an American in World War II, though these were in fact fired by the crew of USS Ward.}} Additionally, none of the statements in the stub-like article are even sourced (besides him being a sailor on the submarine). - Delete So he fired anything from what could be the second shot going forwards in WW2. Not in the least notable. The article has one source. Oaktree b (talk) 03:51, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Delete Clearly not "the first shots of WW 2" by any margin. Intothatdarkness 14:23, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Delete That's gonna be a delete from me, no notability and hardly any citations Zippybonzo (talk) 14:38, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Delete Just a sailor who happened to be involved in defending against the attack on Pearl Harbor. Neither his actions nor the sourcing is enough to show notability.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:02, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Delete I can't find any credible claim (outside of Warnock saying he had) that he was even the first person to fire a shot in defense of the attack at Pearl Harbor, and when you match it up his story against the timeline of the attack it's highly unlikely he did.
