I always thought they were intrinsically notable and any and all were allowed as long as there's something encyclopedic to write about them. :::: The only notability guideline that I know for individual names is contained in WP:N, "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article." Sometimes, a disambiguation page will be expanded to include information about the etymology of a name. But there are tens of millions of surnames and given names. • Delete - If you really feel this is a fact that people need to know, you could maybe start a section called "Maltese Names" on the Malta page, if there isn't one already. But otherwise there's no notability for this surname. (Otherwise I could change my surname to "SUPERCOOLXX11" and then start an article on it declaring the surname was created in 2009 by me.) It might be notable if at one point in history people were persecuted for having that particular surname, or if it's so common it's become a popular fake pseudonym, or if it's so stereotypical it's often used in literature to indicate a character is of Maltese origin, or something similar. - DustFormsWords (talk) 00:30, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
