:::An archive [http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=Bryan+Anderson+Edmonton+source%3A%22-newswire%22+source%3A%22-wire%22+source%3A%22-presswire%22+source%3A%22-PR%22+source%3A%22-press%22+source%3A%22-release%22+source%3A%22-wikipedia%22&btnG=Search+Archives&scoring=a search] shows over 2000 hits. 117Avenue (talk) 03:20, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

::::Again, significant coverage? Ironholds (talk) 04:02, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

:::::2000 is more than the [http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=%22Stephen+Mandel%22+source%3A%22-newswire%22+source%3A%22-wire%22+source%3A%22-presswire%22+source%3A%22-PR%22+source%3A%22-press%22+source%3A%22-release%22+source%3A%22-wikipedia%22&btnG=Search+Archives&scoring=a mayor], how many do you want? 117Avenue (talk) 05:24, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

::::::You're not understanding. Significant coverage. Not "the number of things that mention him", not "the number of things that contain a quote or op ed from him", no. This is not a criteria which can be passed with pure numbers. Sources which discuss him in detail, please provide those? Ironholds (talk) 05:25, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

  • Keep. Passes WP:POLITICIAN. See "...or council of a major metropolitan city." If significant press coverage is questioned, here are some examples [http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/story/2007/12/20/tax-hike.html 7.5% property tax hike highest in 24 years], [http://www.edmontonsun.com/news/edmonton/2010/05/09/13888011.html Ward shuffle has some Edmonton councillors making deals], [http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news/cityplus/story.html?id=0ea3d324-0e8a-4dbc-bd96-ad9c7f9ccc60&k=52255 Tedious path of democracy leads to best result] --Crunch (talk) 00:30, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
  • :Read WP:BIO; significant coverage. Those are one-line mentions and soundbites. Ironholds (talk) 01:31, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
  • Delete no sources that discuss the subject in detail; fails WP:POLITICIAN. Tassedethe (talk) 12:38, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
  • Comment - There is more effort going into this deletion debate than went into the original article. City council members are very, very borderline in the best of cases; it's hard to see how this is going to pass muster... Carrite (talk) 23:17, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
  • Keep This was a stub with almost no information, but on searching it turns out that he was a notable high school coach for 34 years and was inducted into the local sports hall of fame. That plus being on the city council of one of Canada's largest cities add up to notability for me. I added the coaching career info and another link to the article, so you might take another look. --MelanieN (talk) 04:19, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
