Redundant - not a distinct breed; rather it is simply another term for bull and terrier crosses. We have a much more detailed historic article titled Bull and terrier, and we also have articles on each of the 6 distinct modern breeds that share the same ancestry as the bull and terrier or bull-type terrier hybrids Atsme ๐ฌ ๐ง 00:27, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

- So, is there some article that contains a list of these crosses? That would seem to be useful information; if that exists, redirect there. Otherwise I'd say keep this. --Elmidae (talk ยท contribs) 12:56, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
:*Hi, {{u|Elmidae}}, I can see where a redirect might prove helpful, but not a merge. Please see Bull and terrier#Descendants which is far more informative and accurate than this starter article, which was created in 2019, some 13 years after Bull and terrier, which was created in 2006. There is some misinformation in this article, so a merge into Bull and terrier is not advisable. For example, modern purebred dogs, mixed breeds and dog types do exist, but we don't have dog sub-types in the same way that we have subspecies or subtypes in evolutionary biology. [https://theconversation.com/why-dog-breeds-arent-considered-separate-species-56113 All dogs are descended] from the wolf (Canis lupus) and classified as a wolf subspecies, C. lupus familiaris. Also, the FCI citation in the header for [http://www.fci.be/en/nomenclature/3-Terriers.html#s3 "Bull type terriers"] is nothing more than a dog show classification. FCI even states in their [http://www.fci.be/en/Main-activities-of-the-FCI-Secretariat-3.html main activity:] {{xt|Contrary to a widespread idea, the FCI is not a registry and does not issue any pedigree.}} Official dog breed registries like TKC, AKC, UKC, etc. maintain stud books, historic archives and libraries, require DNA testing in some cases, and have hundreds of recognized purebred dogs classified in groups. All purebred terrier breeds are [https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/lifestyle/7-akc-dog-breed-groups-explained/ classified in the Terrier group, including Bull Terriers, etc.] Atsme ๐ฌ ๐ง 19:58, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
:::Oh well, there's the list, first sentence after the quote. So just redirect there? -- Elmidae (talk ยท contribs) 06:48, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

- Redirect to Bull and terrier - {{u|Elmidae}}, this AfD was relisted so I've started a new iVote section. Atsme ๐ฌ ๐ง 16:22, 5 May 2022 (UTC)
- Redirect I agree that this subject would be more helpful as a redirect. The aforementioned article Bull and terrier#Descendants absolutely is a more comprehensive and accurate as stated prior. I also understand why a merge is inadvisable in this case. It's also prudent to consider the difference between dog sub-types and purebreds. I definitely am in favor of redirect in this case. dawnleelynn(talk) 02:55, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
- Redirect as outlined above, seems most suitable. Rubbish computer Ping me or leave a message on my talk page 12:16, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
