Could only find passing mentions, mostly related to its use in In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (look also for "zanzithophone" for more of those results), and some which were just advertisements in Billboard and other music magazines. There is [https://hackaday.com/2016/06/09/reviving-a-dead-zanzithophone/ this piece] from Hackaday but that's all I could find that seems actually useful here.
