As mentioned on the talk page: There is only [http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=strict&q=Chithravadham+death&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= one hit]; is this original research? There are no third-party sources. — Timneu22 · talk 22:03, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- Delete or redirect to Impalement. There is no mention of it in books and for all I know it is the hindi (or other language) word for Impalement. But until it gets real sources it cant really stand on its own.--Savonneux (talk) 00:56, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

RedirectMerge- Its actually the south indian version of impalement. Chitravadham is the Malayalam term, while Tamil uses "kazhuvettram" (after the Kazhumaram - sharpened oiled log on which the impalement is done). There are lot of Tamil sources on this, similarly there will be Malayalam sources. But the details could be added to the impalement article. No need for a separate one--Sodabottle (talk) 15:21, 22 May 2010 (UTC)- : I'm curious why we would create a redirect. Do other foreign language terms (voiture→car) have redirects? I'm not sure that's the right course of action. — Timneu22 · talk 16:40, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- :: uh ok.. that makes sense. Just a merge of the information into impalement would do.--Sodabottle (talk) 16:57, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- :: There's no reason not to have a redirect. English-language sources such as the ones in the article and [http://books.google.com/books?id=N7WaZe2PBy8C&q=%22Chitravadham%22+OR+%22Chithravadham%22&dq=%22Chitravadham%22+OR+%22Chithravadham%22&num=100&cd=1 this book] use the word "Chithravadham" or "Chitravadham" for this punishment, so we should help readers who may come across this term by redirecting it to the article that describes the topic. - Merge seems reasonable. And if we're merging, then we have to redirect, due to GFDL issues. Heather (talk) 15:49, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

- Merge (and Redirect) seem appropriate.--SPhilbrickT 16:18, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
