Non-notable theory. Zero hits on Google Scholar, just one mention in Google Books which incidentally does not agree with what the article says. Hyperdoctor Phrogghrus (talk) 18:16, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Delete – I could find no references with regards to this term. At best this is another expression for core gender identity which redirects to Gender Identity. Without even one reference, I couldn’t even propose a redirect. Thanks ShoesssS Talk 18:31, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Delete. If this was a notable theory, it would have resulted in more than a single hit on Google book search and Google scholar search combined.[http://www.google.com/search?tbs=bks:1&q=%22cognitive+switch+theory%22] The only source given when the article was created was "Information directly retreived from class lectures". That is not a verifiable source, and it is entirely possible that the editor who created this article (which thus far has been their only edit on Wikipedia) misunderstood and misremembered what was presented in class.  --Lambiam 23:03, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Addendum. Actually, there are three hits for ["cognitive switch" "gender identity"] on Google book source.[http://www.google.com/search?tbs=bks:1&q=%22cognitive+switch%22+%22gender+identity%22] Unfortunately, all are "snippet view" – not enough to see what they give as source for this theory, and also not enough to see what the theory really is, but enough to see that the description in this Wikpedia article is seriously off the mark. I still recommend deletion, without prejudice – if someone can produce a verifiable article on this topic, it is fine with me (although a brief paragraph in Gender identity seems more plausible for this at best marginally notable theory).
