  • Keep - No we do not create articles on everyone that are executed on death row.. only those who has recieved national and/or international attention or special cases. That is why Wikipedia only have a very small amount of articles concerning death row inmates when considering how many are on death row in the US. This article needs better sourcing which is available and not deletion. Passes WP:GNG and WP:CRIME.--BabbaQ (talk) 15:56, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

:WP:PERSISTENCE can not be used here as a reason for deletion. Ofcourse persistence in media coverage "dies" out when the inmate is executed as their will be no more additional charges or trials etc conerning the inmate. It can not be denied that this inmate was publicized quite alot to his final day. --BabbaQ (talk) 15:58, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Comment @BabbaQ, can you provide some of the sourcing you've found? I wasn't able to find much, although I am still looking.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 22:00, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Delete per nominator, especially WP:PERSISTENCE. There was a burst of coverage of Ferguson's execution, seemingly mostly because of the satan-worship angle. I've added some of this to the article in case it survives this AFD. However, I can find nothing before or since except for [http://docs.newsbank.com/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info:sid/iw.newsbank.com:AWNB:ABJB&rft_val_format=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:ctx&rft_dat=0F0C62CCA697B5D4&svc_dat=InfoWeb:aggregated5&req_dat=0D663DC0A81A15EA one single, short article] noting his arrest, then nothing again until his execution. I don't see anything that suggests Ferguson is notable. If someone can come up with sources showing some kind of persistent coverage, I'd happily change my mind. Contra BabbaQ, I think that WP:PERSISTENCE actually does suggest deletion in this kind of case. Many executed prisoners are discussed widely after they're executed (e.g. Caryl Chessman). This one, apparently not at all.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 22:32, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Delete or Redirect— A redirect to the section suggested by two editors below is fine with me too. I apologize if this isn't the standard way to add to rather than change my position.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 16:03, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Redirect to Capital punishment in Ohio#List of individuals executed since 1976. WP:PERSISTENCE may or may not apply, but WP:1E certainly does, and redirects are cheap. - The Bushranger One ping only 16:53, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
