  • Delete. Aside from extensive blog entries and many Google Books hits (for his own writings), Thorburn has received very little coverage. The most in-depth coverage I could find was [http://www.orange-papers.org/orange-bibliography.html this] (and the [http://www.orange-papers.org/orange-letters36.html#Thorburn expanded version]) - hardly an ironclad reliable source. A mention in the Mises Journal initially looked promising, but turned out to be an [http://mises.org/journals/liberty/Liberty_Magazine_December_2004.pdf advertisement]. His name shows up in many real articles, but often only as author in a "further reading" type section, or very briefly, as [http://www.robertprechter.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Might-Edward-de-Vere-Have-Suffered-from-Alcoholism.pdf], [http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/addiction-substance-abuse-financial-disaster-1264.php], [http://lasdnews.net/clepp/feb03-newsltr.pdf]. Although some of these passing mentions are in fully reliable sources, as [http://www.cbsnews.com/news/is-alcohol-a-truth-serum/ CBS (misspelled 'Thorbrun')], [http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/08/nyregion/08bigcity.html?_r=0 NYT], [http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_12846398 San Jose Mercury], in my opinion, this does not add up to passing WP:GNG or WP:BIO, and certainly is insufficient to provide references for the article at its present length. --quantumobserver position momentum entanglements 20:07, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Delete Claim to notability is expert on alcoholism, has written books and paid speaker. Books have hardly received attention (reviews or citations) and the couple news quotes are good they don't establish as a notable expert (one that is more significant than every other expert). -- GreenC 17:16, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
