Eric Fletcher Waters was Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters' father, but other than that rather tenuous link, I don't think he's any more notable than any of the soldiers who died during the Second World War. Roger Waters references him in quite a few Pink Floyd works, but this is usually to reinforce Waters' own feelings of loss (he died when Waters was a young child).
