Article doesn't establish why this person is notable. Suttungr (talk) 16:27, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

::Keep. I don't often change my opinion but I figure minimum notability has now been established. Article still needs some cleanup though. Suttungr (talk) 15:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

:*This AfD nomination was incomplete. It is listed now. DumbBOT (talk) 13:01, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Keep. A dean at a significant Canadian university (Dean of Theology, Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia) is likely to be notable. It would be helpful if someone with access to volumes of Canadian Who's Who published during the period 1960-1967 could confirm that he was listed. --Eastmain (talk) 15:25, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

:*Comment. [http://books.google.co.uk/books?um=1&num=100&q=%22Evan+M.+Whidden%22&btnG=Search+Books This] confirms that he was mentioned in the 1951 edition. Phil Bridger (talk) 10:15, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Delete: The article doesn't establish why this person is notable, which isn't enough to delete in my opinion. However, upon further search for VS that would establish his notability, I come back empty handed. While I would agree with Eastmain that a dean at a Canadian University is likely to be noteable, in this instance I don't think he is. DigitalC (talk) 06:04, 19 June 2008 (UTC) [Changed opinion based on recent improvements]. Keep: I think the sources found by Phil Bridger attest to his notability. This article could still use some major improvements, but that isn't a reason to delete. DigitalC (talk) 03:37, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep. As well as being Dean at Acadia he was president of Brandon College. I've updated the article from sources that I could find online, which I think are enough to show notability, but we must also remember than most of the information about someone from the subject's era will be in print, not available at the click of a mouse. • Keep. Looks like notability and sources are now established, per Phil Bridger. -- SCZenz (talk) 13:03, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete. As an acedemic, i would disagree that university Deans are in any way inherently notable. It is just a job. the sources just seem to prove he held this job, but no other notability.Yobmod (talk) 10:19, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
