This is an article about a soung which does not meet notability. Attmtps to redirect the article have been repeatedly undone. User:DarklyShadows (nee Beatleswillneverdie) has been edit warring by undoing redirects with no substantive discussion about the sourcing (see Talk:Even in His Youth).

Here is a breakdown of the sources in the article as of [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Even_in_His_Youth&oldid=951262019 this version].

  1. The Brooklynvegan article is just a list of songs the article author considers to be Nirvana’s 15 Best Non-Album Songs`` and does not represent substantial coverage
  2. "The Rough Guide to Nirvana" (Gaar). The provided link to the book is 404 for me. I looked using the preview for [https://books.google.ca/books?id=rNNC1BXi_XwC&printsec=frontcover&dq=The+Rough+Guide+to+Nirvana&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjYh76owd7oAhXoTN8KHU3sDBIQ6AEIKDAA#v=onepage&q=The%20Rough%20Guide%20to%20Nirvana&f=false this edition]. A search for the song title in the book shows is just a bunch of passing mentions and not significant coverage.
  3. "In utero" (Gaar). I assume this is supposed to be the book "Nirvana's In Utero" as Gaar has no book by the name just "In Utero". I checked [https://books.google.ca/books?id=u92Yi61DRpoC&printsec=frontcover&dq=In+Utero&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi_-_yWw97oAhXRUt8KHbs5DbIQ6AEIKDAA#v=onepage&q=%22Even%20in%20His%20Youth%22&f=false this edition]. Again, the coverage is not substantial.
  4. This would be the same book as the previous reference.
  5. "Heavier Than Heaven. A Biography of Kurt Cobain" (Cross). I used [https://books.google.ca/books?id=HROZAAAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=Heavier+Than+Heaven.+A+Biography+of+Kurt+Cobain&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwju76DZxN7oAhXNMd8KHeIdCaAQ6AEIKDAA#v=onepage&q=%22Even%20in%20His%20Youth%22&f=false this edition]. Again the coverage of the song is not significant.
  6. This reference is the same book as 12.
  7. This is a page number without any book specified? Useless as presented.
  8. [https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/no-apologies-all-102-nirvana-songs-ranked-175683/gallons-of-rubbing-alcohol-flow-through-the-strip-48164/ Rolling Stone list] does not provide any significant coverage.

My own searches do not turn anything of substance that would support a standalone article for this song. -- Whpq (talk) 01:55, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

  • Redirect and either protect or block certain users: It's a perfectly valid redirect but if there's a particularly problem with it being recreated, then we could either protect it from recreation or selectively block certain users from recreating it. Agreed that coverage is insufficient. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:52, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Turn back into a redirect - I agree that the single isn't really notable. It's been mentioned a lot, but it's not received in depth coverage in comparison to other Nirvana tracks. The vast majority of songs ever recorded don't merit their own full Wikipedia page, and this is no exception. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 08:25, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
