Ok, I'll call it. This article is a CV for a lawyer. Though the article's list of citations would appear to support any claim to notability, a more cautious look suggests that Kutty isn't notable - he only comments or acts around other notable topics. A few searches of the internet reveal much about what Kutty thinks, but nothing whatsoever about what others think of him. This leads me to believe that the primary reason for this article's existence is to legitimise an otherwise unremarkable and non-noteworthy man. Parrot of Doom 06:37, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Comment A keep argument could be made based on his citations. WP:AUTHOR states a person is notable if "The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors." [http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=7_4zQMAAAAAJ&hl=en This] list notes his citations among his peers. He *may* pass WP:AUTHOR depending on whether 50 citations means he is "widely cited." Since he's an adjunct professor, I don't see him passing WP:ACADEMIC (hasn't held a named chair). Many of his citations are also not RS (his LinkedIn page for example) and I have not been able to find reliable secondary sources on him. PaintedCarpet (talk) 20:10, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Keep He is widely cited in books about Islamic law. See [https://www.google.com/search?tbs=bks:1&q=%22Faisal+Kutty%22&gws_rd=ssl], so he seems notable to me.--DThomsen8 (talk) 12:31, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Keep He has numerous citations on Google Scholar and is quoted in news media around the world; he is not just an adjunct professor alone but a widely published author, public speaker and full time professor. He is also included as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world The 500 Most Influential Muslims by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre in Amman, Jordan and the Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University. If he is not notable then not sure who is. See the previous call made to delete him as well, where decision was made to keep him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Editorlegaleagle (talkcontribs) 20:39, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Keep - lots of citations available by him at Google Scholar, and articles about him in a couple of publications can be found online, too. Criticism about the layout, disorganization and format of the entry is no reason to delete something. The solution should be to clean it up; I've started the job for you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.121.30.193 (talk) 17:39, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
