Article about a film, not properly sourced as passing WP:NFILM. As always, films are not all automatically entitled to have Wikipedia articles just for existing, and have to show evidence of passing WP:GNG on reliable source coverage and analysis about them in real media -- film reviews, production coverage, evidence of major film awards, etc. But this just states that the film exists, and "references" its existence entirely to unreliable sources, like IMDb and its own trailer on YouTube, with no evidence of GNG-building coverage shown at all, and even a Google News search isn't finding anything more reliable -- I'm only getting hits for a documentary about Stevie Wonder, not a drama film about families named Mensah and Johnson.
As there may be coverage in other languages that wouldn't turn up by searching for the English title, I'm willing to withdraw this if somebody can find more and better coverage than I've been able to, but IMDb and YouTube are not reliable or notability-building sources. - Comment: Something that makes this a bit tricky is that it looks like the director made two films with a similar name - this drama, and a documentary entitled [https://jiroltv.com/2024/11/06/stevie-wonder-honored-in-an-exclusive-film-screening-set-for-nov-6th/ Stevie Wonder in Ghana: In Search of a Blessed Life]. Offhand I have two thoughts about this. The first is that if all else fails, we could redirect this to the Busia's page. The other is that I think Ghana is one of those countries where Google doesn't really search the various news sources and whatnot properly - or at least they were. I'm going to ask at the Ghana WikiProject if they can do a search, just to be on the safe side with this. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 14:39, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- :OK - found some info on this - looks like the Stevie Wonder documentary was inspired by the director's drama film. Offhand I'm not finding a lot, mostly mentions in passing - although more so for the Wonder documentary. My inclination is that there might be more out there, but otherwise we could add a couple of sentences to the director's article and redirect there. - Redirect to Akosua Busia. If someone can find more coverage I'm totally open to being swayed. It's just that at this point in time I wasn't able to really find anything about this movie that would be a RS and was in-depth. I think we could cover this in a couple of lines in the director's page and if more sourcing becomes available after the AfD, it can always be restored from a redirect. - Merge or Redirect I appreciate the responses of ReaderofthePack, and think that merging or redirecting (depending on how much can be sourced) is a good idea. I also note that there is an article on Cinema of Ghana where this information might fit. I note that the creator of this article has also created a number of recent drafts on Ghanian cinema, and perhaps should begin by adding to that article before creating separate articles for each film. - Redirect to Akosua Busia: Merging isn't needed since basic information about the film is already covered in the director's article under the career section, so redirecting is the best option as an ATD. Junbeesh (talk) 08:08, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Akosua Busia until and unless better sourcing can be found. Eluchil404 (talk) 01:43, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
