This is a bad mix of WP:DICDEF and a disambiguation page. I'm not sure if there really even is an attempt here to have an article about journal, the word. Especially so considering the confusing hatnote: "This article is about the journal as a written medium". wumbolo ^^^ 08:48, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

• Delete - I agree with nom, the definition (as well as violating DICDEF) doesn't really add anything that isn't at the top of the disambig page. The first sentence of the disambig page also sets out the literature uses of journal. Unless it was going to have some odd expansion (historial use of meaning? etc) that got it out of DICDEF and beyond the disambig detail I'm not sure how it could remain. • Comment this is a bad DAB/set-index page; a much better one exists at Journal (disambiguation) and should be moved here; however, the usage of a general journal as well as referring to the journal of a parliamentary body would need to be added to that page. The history of this page dates to 2002 (compared to 2005 for the DAB page), a merge may need to take that into account. power~enwiki (π, ν) 21:48, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

• Delete: This article feels more like a dictionary definition mixed with a very short list than an article, for sure violates WP:NAD.Grapefruit17 (talk) 00:16, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

• Keep per power - at the very least, this can be re-appropriated as a disambiguation page, which would include things like General journal, Journal (TV series) and The Journal (newspaper). AfD is not cleanup. Ritchie333 ^{(talk) (cont)} 09:54, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
• Keep Redirect to DAB, do WP:SWAP to preserve histories, mostly per deletion is not cleanup. There is no world where Wikipedia is better off with journal as a redlink. • Delete and repurpose Journal (disambiguation) per User:Galobtter. I've merged all the entries from here into Journal (disambiguation). At this point, we should just delete this, and move Journal (disambiguation) to this title.
