  • Delete - fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL. GiantSnowman 19:35, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Delete as above - although I find it odd that playing in the first round of the UEFA Cup doesn't make a player notable (especially as that is beyond the two qualifying rounds that knock out a large proportion of the lesser teams). Lukeno94 (talk) 21:07, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Comment - in the last AfD (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rihards Gorkšs), it was determined that the article passed WP:ATHLETE (I think it does). Jogurney (talk) 22:57, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Keep - consistent with the earlier AfD (linked above), the article appears to pass WP:ATHLETE, and it also appears that the article may also pass the GNG with some help from Google Translate (I expanded slightly with one source) or an editor with knowledge of Latvian. Jogurney (talk) 23:18, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

:*Consensus at WP:FOOTY is that playing for a semi-pro team in a professional competition is not enough to pass NFOOTY. GiantSnowman 13:35, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

::*When did that change? The prior AfD came to the opposite conclusion. Jogurney (talk) 19:21, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

  • Delete – how exactly is the UEFA Cup a fully professional competition? Besides even if the first ground is considered a notable enough round, the player still has to pass WP:GNG, something which is not shown that he does. – Kosm2fent 11:04, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Delete - consensus can change. There is a long-standing consensus that playing in a match between two teams from fully pro leagues confer notability, which means that this player is not notable as he never played in a fully pro league. Also fails WP:GNG. Mentoz86 (talk) 20:33, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
