The article is just what the title suggests: a list of cyclists, without source or reason for inclusion. If the article wants to become a better article, some criteria should be found, but then the new article would be something like "list of cyclists who won a grand tour" or "list of cyclists who became world champion". Anyway, this article should be deleted. EdgeNavidad (talk) 13:16, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

- Delete as pure listcruft--no rationale or criterion given for what constitutes a "cyclist" worthy of inclusion in this list. I checked quickly: my friend Oliver is not on it, so "Dutch red-haired cyclists" are apparently not included. Drmies (talk) 21:18, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Delete. WP:LISTCRUFT. There could be several million people on this list, there is no apparent inclusion criteria. Tavix | Talk 19:59, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- Keep. The above arguments to delete ignore our stand-alone list guideline which gives an implied inclusion criterion for any list of people—they must be notable, and in this case specifically notable for being cyclists (thus we also don't include, e.g., any actor who happens to like riding a bicycle). Naming conventions say we don't include "notable" in the name of a list of people; so a "List of cyclists" is a "List of notable cyclists", properly excluding your friend Oliver (unless he's notable) as well as "several million people". - Keep – Inclusion criteria can be surmised from Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:18, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- Weak delete Either rename to specify the "professional" cyclists, or delete. Even though theoretically this should be known to be "notable cyclists", you know that millions of IP editors are just waiting to add them and their Schwinn to a list like this (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:34, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
