• Keep. A prominent NZ public figure that we were tasks to create a wikipedia page for. Have worked with this person before in some other wiki pages. Very famous in Dunedin New Zealand, it is difficult to find a person who does not recognize him. Talked about in multiple sources as indicated in the included references. • The edit summary for Unit388's [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Time_dilation&diff=prev&oldid=645502512 first ever article edit], to Time dilation, ended with "- Lync". This doesn't prove that Unit388 is Lync Aronson, but it raises suspicions. Nurg (talk) 09:20, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

• Delete. An unsuccessful candidate for vice-president of a university students' association and board member of a local charity makes this individual well below the project's notability threshold. I'm sympathetic to members of the local community who are aware of him and his actions, but Wikipedia's inclusion standards require nontrivial coverage by reliable, third-party sources, and that is simply not available here. • Comment. So in New Zealand at least, university students by law are assigned to a student association. With that every student is required to pay a yearly fee. So we are talking about a multi-million dollar organization and by no means is it trivial. Also looking at the returns on the charity, while local the organization deals with hundreds of thousands per year so in a place like NZ, this charity is significant. • Delete Per nom, all the keep votes seem to be here through a sort of canvassing off-site and should be aware that it is not the number of votes that determine the outcome but the strength of the arguments based on Wikipedia policies. By this continued pile on without valid arguments besides I like him you only make everything more suspect. • Delete. Not widely known here in Dunedin - known to a section of the University's student population, but that is hardly enough to justify an article. "lync aronson" -wikipedia -facebook returns a massive 7 ghits (by way of comparison, a similar search for my name returns 23000 ghits, and I also appear every now and again on nationwide television. I doubt I'd be worthy of an article). I'm also somewhat concerned by the number of accounts which have been created simply to join in this AfD discussion. I would advise those new wikipedians to look at WP:BIO, which will show clearly how far below notability this subject falls. As an article for an aspiring politician... being an unsuccessful candidate for a position on a student union is about, or below, the level of being an unsuccessful candidate for a position on a city council: a level at which even successful candidates are generally not notable enough for a Wikipedia article.
