Article subject is currently newsworthy, but do his actions rise to encyclopedic notability? Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 00:08, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

  • DELETE.Newsworthy does not = notable. According to WP:NOT, "Wikipedia considers the enduring notability of persons and events. While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion." Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 00:12, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
  • Delete. Absolutly no evidence of notability. Our policy on newsworthy is very specific on this point. Even the incident is trivial.--Dmol (talk) 00:37, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Delete I PRODed this, but that was removed. This seems to be someone who is known for one event, which has not been concluded yet. Even when it is dealt with, regardless of the outcome (and I noticed some comments on the talk page which seem potentially libellous, so I am going to remove them), I don't see that this is a case that is likely to have wide-reaching implications and repercussions. :I agree that the article should be deleted as the event is not notable (police officer arrests woman, film at 11). Only reason I removed PROD and sent to Afd is because the proposed deletion came under debate, so I felt a discussion would be merited. I believe the consensus will be "delete." • Delete mainly for WP:BLP1E, but mostly to get rid of the buggersome IP's on the article talk page that think this person is notable.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 12:28, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
  • Delete Though I'm the original creator of the article, I've been persuaded by this discussion that the subject is currently non-notable. While I do think it's likely that this case will have long-term repercussions, a Wikipedia entry should wait until those repercussions are known. If this story becomes bigger in the coming weeks or months, then we should consider re-creating the article at that time. Nathan McKnight -- Aelffin (talk) 18:58, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
  • Keep this has become a notable person linked with a notable case which may set a important precedent across the country. Especially as she follows through with the civil suit. Can an officer just say I feel unsafe and lawfully arrest someone even if they are not demonstrably interfering? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.74.236.150 (talk) 12:22, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

:If it ever sets an important precedent across the country, maybe then it will be notable. Until then, it's a story about a cop arresting a woman. Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 21:14, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Comment - If the incident becomes notable, the article will be about the incident, not the officer.--Dmol (talk) 08:35, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
