Not an accepted genus, apparently, per IRMNG ([https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1143659 link]). This is a Junior subjective synonym of the subgenus Heodes, within the genus Lycaena. ([https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9645532/pdf/nihms-1842990.pdf source]) I guess a redirect to Lycaena could work, but I'm a bit unsure on that as this isn't a synonym of that, it's a synonym of a subgenus within it. • Redirect to Lycaena. As long as the subgenus is covered in that article, that would seem to be the suitable target. Not sure about precedents but the practice seems sensible. We certainly want it to redirect somewhere.--Elmidae (talk · contribs) 10:55, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Redirect to Lycaena in the absence of any evidence that Mirzakhania is considered a valid name by pretty much anyone. This name is not in use anywhere I can find (besides the IRMNG entry, it's not recognised by LepIndex, Catalogue of Life, or Encyclopedia of Life at all, and is listed as "doubtful" by GBIF with no species placed within it). The synonymy with Lycaena subg. Heodes as adopted by IGMNG was published in [http://lepsurvey.carolinanature.com/ttr/ttr-10-7.pdf volume 10 issue 7 of The Taxonomic Report of the International Lepidoptera Survey] and appears to be the result of genetics work.
